Would you tell us how you fixed it so that we all can learn?
It would be appreciated!
The 2 pics show a before and after. The problem was a completely seized u-joint onto the axle. The axle was rotating in the Carriage U-Joint mount so it was acting like a u-joint but with a lot of strain. Took it apart, cleaned and lubed and away we went. This machine only has 800 meters of filament through it so I guess regular check ups- Lubes are essential.

Seemecnc is sending me a new set of u-joints and axles for my new Orion. They will arrive today. I have a concern on how to to remove the upper axles. I see the screws but after i remove those screws do I wedge a screwdriver behind them to pop them off? I do not want to damage anything.
thanks

Once the screws are removed the axles should be easily removed by hand. The screws simply stop the axle from moving forward and falling out.
You should not have to wedge anything behind the axles and I highly recommend that you do not use any prying tool, those axles can bend easily.

If he's replacing the axles (and u-joints), bending the axles isn't so much of a worry. :D

There is no press fitting to do. Just hold them in place and tighten the screws.

I seem to miss the obvious. You are, of course, correct.

I do hope you put a little white lithium grease on the axle where the u-joints ride so you won't have to go through this again. It may not be in the manual but whenever
you have metal to metal contact a little grease is always recommended or should be.
