Minnesota

Hello from Minnesota! I purchased my kit from SeeMeCNC in mid February after doing a ton of research. The Make Magazine review was what made my final decision. And I am very pleased that I went with this model.

This is my second printer. I started in the summer of 2015 with a Geeetech kit that I bought through eBay. It was fun to build, and I could print a few things but it was not what I wanted from a 3D printer. I decided to move up and settled on the Rostock Max V2. Wow! This thing is amazing. Watching the PEEK fan shroud print was completely amazing. Nothing I had printed before came even close - and this was my first print!

I built the Max V2 stock, as per a lot of recommendations I read in the forums. Since then, I have added the TrickLaser LED Light Ring (highly recommended) and the Aluminum Heat Spreader. So far, this printer has amazed me.

I ran into 3 small problems with my build. The first was a bad power connector for the Rambo board. This led to my first experience with SeeMeCNC support, and JJ in particular. I can't say enough about how good the support is. A replacement was shipped immediately and I was up and running. I also had an LCD issue, and JJ was again a rock star in supporting me through troubleshooting. I am so impressed by JJ and the support I have received. The last issue I ran into was my mistake. The power cables from the heating got trapped and were pressing up against the bed. This caused issues with adhesion at the outer sections of the bed. Once I figured that out, then big prints were no problem at all.

This is an amazing printer. I am so impressed not only with the Rostock itself, but with the SeeMeCNC team. Top notch!
