Hello!
Just received my Max Friday evening and finished up the build last night. Quality parts and kit, turned out really nice! I love it so far!
Currently working on my third print after the two fan mounts.

Great job of building. Send some photos of your prints when you get them completed.
Re: Jason's Rostock Max v2
Thanks! I had to pull an all-nighter to get it finished over the weekend before I went back to work today so I haven't printed a lot with it yet. Just the two fan shrouds and a phone mount for my car. This evening I'm trying to get Octoprint to connect to it so I can watch it from work. Doesn't seem to want to connect though. Downloading the newest build of OctoPi right now to try again.

You seem persistent enough to get it working, don't forget to ask someone on the Forum if you get stuck.jsnbrgg wrote:Thanks! It worked on my old printer, but it wasn't a Rambo motherboard. So I'm hoping the new build will do it.
Re: Jason's Rostock Max v2
Ok.. I got my OctoPi working.. Seems I needed to unplug the printer for a few minutes after changing the baud rate settings in the eeprom in order for it to update. I'm not certain but I'm thinking the power switch on the printer must just be a "soft" power switch.

Ok.. So here is a pic of my layer fan (2nd print). I didn't install the layer fan yet because I have some big projects to do in ABS and won't need it.Eaglezsoar wrote:Great job of building. Send some photos of your prints when you get them completed.
I am redesigning the defrost vents for my 74 Corvette so I need to use ABS for that because of it's heat properties. The first part that I just started on the printer will be about 18 hours according to Cura; there are three of those type parts. Then another part that is tall and slinder (388mm tall); probably a 24 hour print. I'm tempted to try and print that without cutting it up since the tip of it comes to a point right in the center of the bed and there wouldn't need to be much more than a movement area the size of a pea at that height. The final segment consists of five parts that are cut to 180mm each but I can probably re-cut it to less parts because of the Rostock Max v2 large print area..

After those are done and installed I might do a little more modding with printing some new dash parts. Haven't decided for sure on that yet.

I noticed on the LCD screen on your printer that is says "Keep Hands Away" at the bottom...did you add that in the firmware? Mine doesn't say that....
Re: Jason's Rostock Max v2
That message is set by the Custom G-Code (Start Code) in the Slicer. When I downloaded the MatterControl Software and config file from SeeMeCNC downloads it already had that in there.Neptune wrote:I noticed on the LCD screen on your printer that is says "Keep Hands Away" at the bottom...did you add that in the firmware?
