New from New York

Post by Aurora900 »

Hi all! I'm Danielle and I'm from Long Island, NY.

I figured I'd sign up on the forum since I just ordered my first 3D printer. Not just my first from here, but my first ever. I went to Maker Faire in new york this past weekend, mostly because it's a yearly tradition for my boyfriend and I now, but also because we wanted to find our first 3D printer. I looked all over, talked to nearly every 3d printer booth I saw and couldn't find anything that was just right for me. I had a number of requirements and most of them fell short in at least one category.... until I happened to wander inside and saw the 16 foot printer at seemecnc's booth. I was so annoyed with everyone's printers falling short that I almost didn't talk to them. But my friend went to the bathroom, so I figured while she was gone I might as well see what they had to offer. I do not regret doing that. When I got home that night I ordered myself a Rostock Max V2 after looking more carefully through the seemecnc site and looking at some reviews.

On a side note, the woman I spoke to at the booth was friendly and answered every single one of my questions with confidence. And the best part is all of her answers were the ones I was looking for :P

Anyways... I'm a computer tech and a network/systems admin. I've been playing with electronics since I was 12 and I'm also a photographer and a bit of a musician.

I apologize for the late response. We usually respond within 24 hours, your message was not forwarded to me and I imagine others on the forum.
I am very happy for your purchase of the Rostock Max and be sure to download the assembly manual which you can find under the printer's topic.
We would be grateful for any pictures of your build if you have the time to take some. We will also be around to answer any build or printing question
you may have only we will do our best to respond much more quickly!
Have a great build!

Oh I've skimmed the manual several times and read through a good portion of it already... I'm way more excited about this than I could have imagined. The kit arrives tomorrow evening, so you bet it will be the slowest work day ever.

And I'll definitely do a build thread :)

Update: The printer is at my front door right now. This will definitely be a long day. I'm also slightly annoyed that UPS left the package at my door, considering its value.... SeeMeCNC really should have requested signature on this. I hope its still there when I get home :P

I'll be starting a build thread later tonight after I get started on the build, so my next update will be there (assuming no one steals my printer)

The day I got mine I was up till 4am working on it. Just one more part. Just one more page. I could not stop.

2 hours of sleep is not enough before you have to go to work.

Haha thanks, shes the best. The spot on her face looks like a inverted phantom mask. Also if you check out my build thread you'll see her again sitting in her favorite spot under the table :P
