Re: New Cyclops nozzles > Old Cyclops nozzles

Hey 626Pilot There has indeed been a super slight revision! We're impressed that you even noticed. With a few of the first Cyclopes out the door we had a couple of people that managed to strip the very short length of thread on the nozzle. At that time (around a year ago now! hardly feels it) we had ...

Re: E3D Temperature 140 C Plateau

The temperature curve, and the fan-on/fan-off being what is controlling whether it gets to temp or not very much points to this not being assembled with a gap between block and sink. This is quite likely to cause damage to your machine as the top of the heatsink will get incredibly hot and start to ...

Jarrett - If you're having problems we'll sort you out! No drill bits needed. Just get in touch on our contact us page http://e3d-online.com/ContactUs on our site. If you need a new nozzle you need a new nozzle. We don't expect our customers to have to take drill bits to our product to get it to work.

Re: E3D Release New Version 6 of HotEnd.

bvandiepenbos Yup the PTFE tube goes right into the HeatBreak, but the PTFE passes off the filament to the break while it is still in the cold section of the hotend. This means that you're getting all metal high temperature performance with no chance of PTFE meltdown or cooking, but still PTFE ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Mike I'm totally inclined to believe you, especially if you're freezing out the PLA (which I misread as you doing a hot pull at glass transition temp to release the filament - apologies). I think it's possible that there may have been a batch, or portion of a batch with slightly offset nozzle ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

I've just gone through a few hundred nozzles with a set of callipers and a drill bit as a depth probe. Including some from older batches. All of which measured around 1.05-1.10, in a single batch they vary less than 0.03 or so. My method was to insert a 2mm drill bit into the jaws of the calipers ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Just to say - that we're actually going to take a huge road trip off the island, going to our manufacturers, do a bunch of measuring, etc etc. We're absolutely looking into this whole nozzle orifice length as a possible avenue for combating issues. No verdict as yet, but much thanks to Mr Hackney ...

Hi all! Long time since I checked in here, perhaps too long. Things have just been crazy at E3D and I don't have as much time as I'd like to peruse forums and the like. McSlappy kindly got in touch via the support system to let me know about this little saga. The main culprit for jamming is usually ...

Sanjay from E3D here, the threaded couplers use a 1/8th BSPP thread which is a very common standard pneumatic fitting thread.

Sanjay from E3D here! I am afraid I am quite useless to you all on this question - never used repetier firmware myself, just marlin. The advice that Nylocke gives is sound and I would go with that. (Use sensor 100 for the AD595 on the board) If you find a solution that works don't forget to add ...

None of the links are for the right ones guys, sorry! I am keeping my cards to my chest a little on this one. The guys we deal with don't do retail either, or buying online. But the thing to bear in mind is that our couplers are modded by us when we get them, which allows you to pass the tubing ...

Absolutely stinks of a loose wire! Keep the printer stationary, and go along all your wires flexing and shaking them. Connectors too. Eaglezsoar: We get them in bulk from a leader in the pneumatics industry - we then modify them to our specification, and then they go on the product. We will get them on the site asap for people to buy - expect a price of around £2.50 with it already modified by us. I'm not going to talk about the ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Fiero2M6 I tend to go for .25mm layers and 0.5mm wide traces on the 0.4mm nozzle for most structural stuff, like printer parts for example. You should be able to push the trace width higher than that, I expect you will start getting rough top surface finish when you begin to exceed 0.8mm trace ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Flateric Yup the bowden version isn't just us charging you £16 for a bit of tube and two couplers! That would be daft. The bowden version uses a low friction delrin coupler with steel teeth that we modify so that the tube doesn't just push into the coupler, but actually pushes through it. The ...

Re: ABS Clogging

Dirt or swarf on or in the filament can cause blockages. A dust cleaner made of sponge for your filament as it enters the extruder eliminates this.

The other cause can be junk from filament contaminants. Depends on your filament quality.
