Hmm. Yeah, what I was going for was a smooth temp range, and willing to sacrifice a little heat up time.

I'd like to get my hands on "pro" grade (like one from 3DS) head, just to see what theirs looks like.

Alternative materials for heater block

Has anyone tried using other metals beside aluminum with success? Fail? Cost aside, what would retain heat the best? I'm probably over complicating things, as I tend to do.. I was thinking like a threaded copper insert pressed into a cast iron ring (or block) that is then heated vs. the aluminum ...

Forgot to mention that part - It's possible that I did not disable the "check for temperature" lines of code properly to test for that. I did that early on, but it may have been wiped out after a firmware change. Can you possibly clarify exactly how that would be edited on Repetier firmware? If you ...

Extruder motor only works when manually jogged

I've not been able to get my extruder motor to operate under any remote condition - as in, only when I use the rotary control does the motor turn in any direction. When the printer is operating (NOT in dry run), the motor seems enganged (gives resistance) but does not hum or give off excessive heat ...
