Re: Inconsistent results (aka failures) burning Repetier 92.9 firmware

One possibility: It's not really erasing or uploading at all. In fact, I have evidence that it actually hasn't erased (though signature checks are good, and the fuses read back as good). But if no erase or flash is really taking place, then that would explain why when I "uploaded" the original ...

Re: Inconsistent results (aka failures) burning Repetier 92.9 firmware

More info on this. I can (apparently) successfully upload AND get a good verification on the original firmware dump that I downloaded from the printer originally. However, when I try to upload the newer firmware (about 20K smaller, which is a bit suspicious but we'll let that pass for now) it always ...

Inconsistent results (aka failures) burning Repetier 92.9 firmware

Hi. I'm in the process of attempting to replace the manufacturer provided Repetier .91 (on a P802M type printer) with 92.9. I'm seeing inconsistent results (to say the least). First, I used avrdude to read out the current firmware as a hex file protection copy. No problems there. I obtained a ...

Re: Black Filament from Hell

For the record, the vendor of this filament has declared the entire batch of black to be bad (it wasn't only me having problems with it) and has shipped me a (different color) replacement.

Unbranded but medium grade, and came recommended.

Black Filament from Hell

OK, this is getting annoying. Every other PLA filament color I have -- all apparently the same batch from the same manufacturer, print between reasonably to great. But my first spool of black PLA is possessed. Every time I try to print, it's OK for 3 or 4 layers, than I start to get stepper skips ...

Re: Linux Repetier-Host Debug Controls Missing?

I found it. The controls only appear when Repetier-Host is in direct connection (e.g. serial) mode. They are not present when connected to Repetier-Server. Thanks!

Linux Repetier-Host Debug Controls Missing?

Hi. I'm running Repetier-Host 1.6.2 under Linux -- supposedly the most recent version. No matter what I do, I cannot see the debug controls that are supposed to be under the manual controls (please see attached photo). I want to use "Dry Run" mode -- but need those controls to do it, or alternately ...

Repetier-Host works -- Server doesn't

Hi. After some successful tests of the Server from an old Win7 system, I'm trying to move to a Linux system that is much faster. Host and Server both installed fine. Host accesses the printer fine directly over the /dev/ttyUSB0 connection. However, even though Server is running (obviously, I test ...

Re: Embarrassing novice hotend query

Thanks! So glad I checked on this. So just punch through the tape to reach the hex screw if I need to remove the nozzle? Thanks again.

Embarrassing novice hotend query

This is a pretty embarrassing question. I just built my first printer -- a generic Chinese Cartesian kit -- and have been running through basic calibration and checks before initial printing. In the process, I ran the hotend and bed temps up a bit (not to operating temps) just to test the heaters ...
