Re: Printer continues in "dry run" after hardware failure notice
Thank god for this thread. I just spent the last 4 hours tearing apart and checking every single piece of my Eris to find the wiring fault that I thought was causing this issue. It turns out that my printer was working fine and the reading of 17.2C room temperature was simply too low. I changed the ...

Re: ERIS for sale ($400)
OK, I am getting consistent operation again after correcting a sloppy crimp. I also separated the cable whip and Bowden tube. The pressure exerted by the Bowden tube on the 8 pin connector was significant and didn't sit well with me.

Re: ERIS for sale ($400)
Well I decided to make a big test print to protect the bed during shipping, but apparently the ERIS decided it doesn't want to be sold. It is now having calibration issues unless I manually guide the electrical whip and keep pressure on it. I am going to temporarily remove it from sale until I am ...

Re: Greeting from the Submarine Capital of the World
Oh, I am far too afraid of a security violation due to insider knowledge to even think about creating a model. Instead I found one on thingiverse that is very nicely done.

Re: Greeting from the Submarine Capital of the World
I'll admit that as soon as everything was calibrated and printing well I made a 3ft long Virginia class model to sit on my bookshelf at work. The Rostock made pretty quick work of that. Sadly I forgot to take a picture and can not do so at work.

ERIS for sale ($400)
I picked up an ERIS over the summer with the intent to use it as a portable printer, but I frankly haven't been using it very much. Instead of leaving it sitting on my shelf I have decided to put it up for sale to buy other toys ;) The good: - It is 100% bone stock and has printed around 1kg of ...

Greeting from the Submarine Capital of the World
Greetings from the Submarine Capital of the World (or at least the town next door) in Ledyard, CT. I work as a structural engineer for General Dynamics Electric Boat and have been out in New England for about 8 years now. My introduction to 3D printing was using a Stratasys Fortus at the high school ...
