Re: How to correct for distortion in the Y dimension?
I had about a 5% problem in Y with my MAX v2 and it turned out to be that the bolt used to hold the idler on the 'Y' tower, it was slanted (lower on one side than the other), this led to the belt rubbing on idler and I think caused my problem. In correcting this I also would have adjusted the ...

Re: What's an acceptable margin of error?
I found that the bolt at the top of the Y axis was slanted and causing the belt to ride up the plastic part that surrounds the roller barring. After adjusting that my prints all fall within the same margin, and since my original post I've printed some custom test shapes that span about 240mm and ...

Re: What's an acceptable margin of error?
Do you mean a larger print would help because the error would be exaggerated, or are you inferring that the build platform may be ill-calibrated and other aberrations will appear at outer regions? In other words, would you expect that if I printed the same cube off center, say by 125mm, that I may ...

What's an acceptable margin of error?
I finished calibrating my Rostock MAX v2 as detailed in the manual with results I'm pretty happy with. Next I printed some 'calibration cubes,' the model was 20mm/20mm/10mm in the X/Y/Z respectively, using MatterControl's MatterSlice I sent it off to the printer. I printed this model twice, letting ...

Re: Setting Z Height on Rostock Max v2 has weird behavior
Yeah, it seems like something is a skew, but then again its not really harmful, just seems like it's method to Home is something like "Move up 150% Z-max length, then on endstop trigger set absolute position to {0,0,Z-max length}. I've been working with MC bed leveling to get a slight slope out of ...

Setting Z Height on Rostock Max v2 has weird behavior
When homing with the option under the Advance Settings the cheap skates correctly move to the top, tap the end stops and settle, I then move to the menu to manuall decend the hotend with the turn knob, slowly but surely I reach the bottom and find my new Z=0 point. I back to the previous menu and ...

Re: Warped Onyx beds
I've been struggling with calibration myself and notice the PCB bed was 'domed' as described here. I thought that was natural and something we could adjust for in calibration (not perfectly), but it's not turning out to be easy to calibrate.

Hello SeeMeCNC Forum!
My names Robert and I got my Rostock MAX v2 a few days ago. I'm on about page 60 of the manual and things are going well. I'm building stock with some motor dampners as an add on. I'll probably start a build thread soon, but I hope to knock out the rest of the build over the coming weekend. I'm a ...
