Thanks for the replies!
I know that my settings were a bit excessive - I will run some tests with your settings.
As far as the whole nozzle drilling is concerned I will read up on that tomorrow ( that's a lot of text )
I really appreciate the input!

E3D v6 stringing problem
Hey, I really don't know what to do anymore. My new E3D hotend produces strings all over the place. I dropped my temperature (180°), upped my retraction(10 mm I know that's a lot), upped my retraction speed (130 mm/s) and switched filament. The attached picture shows you the best result I could get ...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie
A good way to get a rough idea if your angle is off is an electronic angle indicator.
You don't have to buy one just download one for your smartphone.
It isn't 100% accurate but it will give a good indication if something is wrong.

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie
Has anyone had success with the 1.0.4 html version? I keep trying and always get similar values which are wildly off. And now I'm put off by version 1.0.1 that was working because I can't have scaling issues. I don't know what else to try since the Steps per mm fields was the only thing left I had ...

Re: Low Cost (No Cost Approach) alternate to PEI
Ciao, thanks for the picture. nice.. 1- Can you please tell any glue/spray etc you apply on the sheet? 2- How long the sheet work i.e. after how many prints you replace? I haven't tested if any glue or spray sticks on this surface but I'm pretty sure that it will. As far as I can tell the sheet ...

Re: Low Cost (No Cost Approach) alternate to PEI
As requested a link to a photo with the sheet applied.

You can see that the heat bed hasn't warmed all the way to the outer edges as the sheet isn't transparent yet.
I used a ruler to get it onto the bed without any air pockets.

Re: Low Cost (No Cost Approach) alternate to PEI
If you try to get rid of the laminating sheet with a cold bed you are absolutely right but with a heated bed you can peel it off pretty easily.

Re: Low Cost (No Cost Approach) alternate to PEI
Im on a fair in Italy right now - I will post some pictures as soon as I get back. I don't have a link I just used the stuff I had lying around (my girlfriend thought it would be a good idea to buy a laminating machine - turns out she was right ;) ) Just search for laminating sheets (pouch) on ...

Re: Low Cost (No Cost Approach) alternate to PEI
Im not quite sure. Could be but I don't know what material they use for laminating. All I can say that it works like charm for me and it's really cheap.

Re: Low Cost (No Cost Approach) alternate to PEI
Another cheap alternative is a laminating pouch. Just split it and apply it with a ruler (rough side facing down). Works well for me and you can use it a bunch of times! You need to heat your bed to get it oft again though.

Re: Part size problems / Edge Problems
This is a constant topic on any forum dealing with FDM/FFF 3D printers. Basically anything that's not perfect will make holes smaller than nominal, and there are a few factors that do so even if everything IS perfect. A summary of some of the factors involved is available in the Slic3r manual at ...

Part size problems / Edge Problems
Hey, I've started to print mechanical parts with my Rostock and ran into some problems. For calibration purposes I printed a 15 x 15 x 10 cube (Test 2 folder - link below) with a 5 mm hole right in the middle. I am almost satisfied with the results, though I wish it was closer to 15. The bigger ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
Hey! Just a quick question. I used the manual config for my Rostock Max V2 and every time I enter the calculates values my printer starts behaving really weird. If i run the GCode again it will move to the opposite x,y,z coordinates well above the intended height and move very slowly- the terminal ...

Re: Extruder motor high frequency noise
In my case it's more than a little noise unfortunately... On the other hand the little speakers on the RAMBO board stay quiet no matter what i do. Any ideas on that? Not aware of any speakers on RAMBo. Beeps come from the LCD display panel. Yeah sorry that's what I meant. How old are you? 27!

Extruder motor high frequency noise
Hey, I finished my assembly a few days ago and so far everything's working pretty good. Just one grain of salt - the extruder stepper motor is killing me. Every time I extrude something it emits a high frequency noise that is really painful to listen to. It stops the second I press the "Release ...
