Re: Stryker MK II - Planetary Defense Missile Drone
I am very tempted to buy the game just because you took the time and care for just an icon. Shows you care. Perhaps I ought to sign up for playtesting this game, if they're still open to it. We'd love to have additional playtesters. We have had a few helping us out during our alpha pre-release. It ...

Stryker MK II - Planetary Defense Missile Drone
Hey everyone, long time no visit. I've spent the last year or so working on a video game called Dominari with a friend of mine, and I've been flexing my art muscles. Specifically, I've had to come up with a crapload of icons. For the final icon, I had to come up with a "planetary defense missile ...

Re: Elite Dangerous - Cockpit Console - HUGE build
All, It's been a long road, but my brother has the electronics and logic now hooked up into the giant console I designed and printed him. Check this video out! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. This project has taken him about a year and we still have a long ways to go. https://www.youtube.com ...

Re: Hate to say it, but i've run out of ideas...
I never owned the e3dv6. But i can tell you that I have been exceedingly happy with the prometheus. It's got a really sweet design to it and is a lot cheaper than the evd36. Had I followed the instructions in the first place, I wouldn't have had this issue, so blame the operator not the part, heh ...

Re: Hate to say it, but i've run out of ideas...
I have some great new! It turned out to be the play in the Prometheus tip. I took it apart and realized that there were two small screws that were supports to go into the body that lock the main tube screw in place. I completely forgot to put them in. Good grief. How did I get such good prints the ...

Re: Hate to say it, but i've run out of ideas...
Hey, I'll check those items next. I will say that there was an "event" that happened a while back, but I did not notice it affect my prints. One of the construction items in the manual should be updated to include putting the blue threadlock on the little nuts that hold the end-stops on. Over months ...

Hate to say it, but i've run out of ideas...
Hey all, Been a while since i posted, and a while since I had a problem, but now i have a problem and not sure how to address it. A few weeks ago, I woke up one day and my prints started to look like the attached. Things I have tried: 1) Clearing the EEPROM and reloading Repetier from the ground up ...

Re: Elite Dangerous - Cockpit Console - HUGE build
Hello everyone, So, I finished the job and sent the console to my brother. It arrived last night and he was eager to get started with the electronics so he jumped right in. We are going to hook into the games sound system and log files to send the lighting commands to the various LEDs (he's using a ...

Musing on Jams (PLA and ABS)
I recently acquired a Prometheus hot end and have been printing a lot with ABS. I then moved to use PLA and experienced my first few jams almost immediately. Perplexed, I fiddled with the transition zone, fiddled with this, fiddled with that. Then I sat and decided to really think about it. I had ...

Elite Dangerous - Cockpit Console - HUGE build
Hello everyone. I've been away for a while working with my brother on his latest project. He is building a cockpit from the cargo ship in the game Elite Dangerous. We have hooked into the log files of the game in order to know game events such as when we are hit, shields, location, etc. He asked me ...

More than 8"x8"?
I believe the Rostock Max v2 is supposed to be limited to 8"x8". I've changed the tower cal routine to push it all the way out to the edges to really nail down the horizontal radius. I've successfully printed 8 1/2" x 9" pieces after having done this. It takes a work and I have to orient the piece ...

Re: hot End getting plugged using abs regardless of manufact
I replaced the hobbed gear, installed the Prometheus, and replaced a blown fuse. All I can say is going from the stock hot end to the prometheus feels a bit like going from a Nissan to a Ferrari. This hot end prints like silk. i am printing about 3x faster and am not even pushing to its max yet. I ...

Re: hot End getting plugged using abs regardless of manufact
Quick update: After my super cleaning with an exacto knife and a magnifying glass, i was able to get my first successful ABS print done. it was a small (about the size of a 50c piece) so i am trying something larger now. But at least it was the first successfull print I've had in about a week. I did ...

Re: hot End getting plugged using abs regardless of manufact
heh. Well, I ordered a new hobbed gear from SeeMeCNC because, theoretically, it HAS to wear away eventually. I've run 4,548m of filament through this printer so far. i cleaned it out with brushes and an exacto blade earlier this morning, and I also looked at it wit a lens. I don't think it's my ...

Re: hot End getting plugged using abs regardless of manufact
Well, i drilled it out pretty good and smooth, but no change. I am observing that the "track" on the filament from the extruder seems to have a smooth spot every 4/5th of an inch about 3mm long . so, good tread and then a flat spot. I wonder if the gear has some damage and during retraction it can't ...

Will to. I believe I kept the extra when I first built it. Thanks so much. Let's see how this goes. I'll still upgrade to the Prometheus my wife got me, but I want to find out if this will still fix it.

Re: hot End getting plugged using abs regardless of manufact
Guess I'l find out. I found out last night that my wife bought me the Prometheus hotend for Christmas, but felt so bad for me struggling that I got my main Christmas present a few weeks early. I had to order the proper mount and supports from TrickLaser, but at a minimum I'll have a new hotend ...
