Stripped the Max V2 for its parts to make a CNC (I have a far more reliable 3d printers now).
Stripped out the cabinet and burnt it.

Long time since I have been around. I abandoned the V2 for a while for reasons of sanity.

It was def 0.4mm when I got mine (and still is). I think I will get 3.5mm then (and maybe a 0.5mm for trials).
I have a horrible feeling they are not going to make any new nozzles for the V2 and leave us stranded when the stock runs out

Thanks. I will look into this then. Will going from an 0.4mm to an 0.5mm make much difference to my prints? Maybe I am better going down to the 3.5mm? Why are the 0.4mm size missing.... is this something that is not being produced any more? :shock: Been moving house etc for 6 months and been totally ...

I thought the original standard hot-end nozzles were 0.4mm?

I have been totally out of the loop for the last 6 months. Is there a new shiney hotend that will fit (or can be made to fit) the Max V2?
The E3dv6 I had was a nightmare... currently running the factory one

Hey all I just tried to find spares (an 0.4mm nozzle to be exact) for my RoStock Max V2. Could not find them anywhere (I am UK, but willing to purchase from US etc). Tried a tech ticket to SeeMe CNC to ask them, but the Capatcha 'not a robot' thing wasn't working and would not let me send the ticket ...

Took the 8gb Class 10 sd card out of my in-car camera and tried that...

Printed very nicely and not a flaw in the print (that I can see).

Mmm... OK. I read that people were solving sd card stopping issues by getting better sd cards. I think I will get a 4gb class 10 card anyway - just to rule it out. Just had a Google (the time I have spent on Google over this thing....._). Looks like the sd cards they supply with the printer are only class 4 and not up to spec - causing failures (WHY SUPPLY THEM THEN - bangs head on wall). Apparently a class 10 sd card is a much better option. Hopefully that is ...

It was printing standalone - no USB lead attached. Printing the file off the sd card. Was printing very well and then the print head just stopped with no warning. Just sat there. Hotend stayed at full temp, it just seemed to grind to a halt. Is there a limit to the G-code size that can be read off ...

Tried new usb leads - wasn't that. It just randomly started doing it after probably nearly a year of being fine.
I am suspecting my Sony Vaio.
Most of my previous issues are not down to the lead

The E3d V6 will never see my printer again Stock head works far better. Sticking with that. I don't need to lose any more evenings over the V6

Tried slowing the comms speed. Re-installed Rambo drivers.

How do you print from the SD card? Do you set up your print in Mattercontrol and then save it to the card?

Why do people always assume that we have not tried everything? I spent hours, days, months trying to get the E3d v6 working. It never did work properly. I have poured more wasted hours into this 3d printer than I have ever done with any other hobby. As I type, the printer has failed again. These ...

Now randonly during prints, Mattercontrol throws up 'semaphore timeout period has expired' and disconnects from the printer.

Reinstalled all drivers. Reinstalled all USB drivers.
