Re: Another Error!!!
I just took a look at your other thread on first layer issues. Combined with this one it very well could be overextrusion. Raising your Z height would just help mask an overextrusion issue by giving it someplace to go. Believe Doc Hackney has some tips in one of his sticky posts that include ...

I want to say, thank you all for your help with every situation I post, and every print I make. By time I get things exact, I will finally get to pay back my knowledge gained forward to those that are in my current position now. On this print, I am having a "BRIDGING" issue (Please check the 2nd and ...

First layer issues
I have a Rostock Max V2 and I am trying to figure out why my first layer is making the mistake of running into the filament it is laying down. You will be able to see what I mean in the images.

Re: Cooling fan attached to extruder
What is your PID drive Max set to? If its 205 thats too low, bump it to 230. The other thing is power resistors for the heating element aren't that reliable. Heater cartridges (pretty cheap tbh) are much more robust and reliable. They also heat faster and deliver a more stable temp. If your ...

Cooling fan attached to extruder
Okay, so this is my issue. After printing the first and second fan casings as well as connecting the fans and recalibrating the PID for the extruder, for some reason I can not get the extruder to reach temperatures any higher than 215C. Please tell me, what could I be doing wrong? Also I have the ...

Re: First layer issues
Hey AvengelKing, I'm in Anaheim, CA, so you have local owners that can jump in and help. If nothing else works, Riverside isn't that far away, but I'll bet we can figure it out before it requires a housecall. I've dabbled in MatterControl, used RepetierHost, and am currently using Pronterface. It ...

Re: First layer issues
To me, it looks like your "minimum travel requiring retraction" and "minimum extrusion requiring retraction" are much too high. I think I have mine set at something like 2 and 0.02. You're not going to get a z hop without a retract to go along with it, so I'm guessing that's your trouble. If you're ...

Re: First layer issues
Apart from a settings dump you've done very little to describe your issue. "I am having a huge issue with the extruder mixing in and overlapping." - what are you talking about, please? "I am using ABS I did the proper calibration, and I still don't get the problem." - neither do we, which is why ...

First layer issues
I am having a huge issue with the extruder mixing in and overlapping. I'm not sure why it keeps coming out this way. I am using ABS I did the proper calibration, and I still don't get the problem.

Re: CAN'T GET RIGHT
The challenge of figuring out what causes a failed print is complicated when it could be a lot of things. It is simpler to print a series of basic exercises that reveal specific aspects of printing. With each exercise helping to dial in a particular setting, you build a foundation of confidence in ...

Re: CAN'T GET RIGHT
I am printing on a rostock max v2 with masking tape. The extruder temp was 225 and the bed temp was 80.
This is my first printer, so I am not up on the jargon yet. What exactly are you referring to when you speak of the ridge?
