Re: Lots of stringing
Seems like you will need to adjust your retraction distance (I would increase it by 0.5mm until it goes away). Also, using the "coast at end" option in Simplify 3D helps a lot with stringing too. I have mine set to 0.2mm as the coasting distance.

Re: [Solved] Extruder Skipping Steps
An update on this. I had been too busy the last couple of weeks to sit down with it. The problem ended up being the e0 driver being dead/dying. I swapped pin values for e0 and e1 in the pins.h file, recompiled the firmware, and swapped the motor from e0 to e1. It's now extruding happily and I haven ...

Re: Extruder Skipping Steps
Spoke a bit too soon. Fixed the connectivity issue but it's back to skipping after 20 minutes of printing, so probably still a heating issue. So gonna try taking out the board and adding more spacers to see if that helps. Not sure why I'm suddenly running into this problem after 2.5 years of no ...

Re: Extruder Skipping Steps
The wiring seems to have been the issue. It wasn't getting proper consistent current.

Re: Extruder Skipping Steps
Another update: I completely removed the titan and turned the motor on and it was not spinning at all but still making those noises. So thought maybe the wiring was having an issue delivering proper current. Lopped off where I had soldered and resoldered again making sure the connection was strong ...

Re: Extruder Skipping Steps
Oh, and taking the bowden out of the hotend does not make a difference. The extruder motor still skips steps

Re: Extruder Skipping Steps
This is an upgraded v1. There isn't exactly much room behind the rambo board where the psu is as it is.
It's hard to make a housing when the printer does not work. My overheating issue is gone, and that is all that matters at this point.
The titan steps are currently set to 422.

[Solved] Extruder Skipping Steps
I have been battling a problem with my extruder skipping steps with a e3d Titan. No matter what I try, I can not pin down the problem. I had been battling this same problem for the past 4 months and thought I had it resolved. My X axis motor had died on me, so I moved the extruder motor down to it ...

Re: ujoints stuck to steel rods
I brush on ABS juice on to my plate. I'm currently soaking the rods and ujoints to see if that will help loosen them.

ujoints stuck to steel rods
So after a few prints (got my Rostock MAX up and running last week) I noticed that the perimeter and infill were not touching on some parts of my larger prints. I found that 3 of my ujoints no longer have any motion. They appear to be completely stuck to the steel rods. I had verified when I was ...

Re: Extruder and bed heating slowly
A loose thermistor was the problem. I was poking around at it and it just suddenly dislodged very easily. So I pulled it out and re-did the silicone. It now heats up to 240 in 3 minutes flat. Thankfully nothing was damaged!

Re: Extruder and bed heating slowly
I am indeed getting 12vdc at the terminals. I do plan to use hairspray, so I'll lower the bed to 80. I was heating up both at the same time, so I did not consider that might have been impacting the speed. Without the bed on, it got up to 195 in about 7 minutes. Seems to be plateauing there again ...

Extruder and bed heating slowly
I am having an issue with both the extruder and heated bed taking a long time to heat up. I am using ABS, so I have the extruder set to 240 and the bed to 110. The extruder heats up to ~150 in a couple of minutes, but after that it slows down a lot. It has taken it about 20 minutes to heat up from ...
