$17 to ship $29 worth of filament?

Post by Qdeathstar »

I was going to buy some filament through seemecnc, however upon checking out the cheapest shipping option is $16.77

is that correct or am I doing something wrong? most places shipping is either free or right around 5-7 dollars.

kinda hard to tell when you don't list where you are shipping to.

There's a $10 option for me. It has to vary based on your location.

I'll agree that, that's a little steep, but it's not outrageous. Adafruit charges a minimum of $9 to ship me a few grams of circuit boards.

It is slightly cheaper on Amazon if that helps.

8 bucks is a lot more reasonable, but it's an interesting business decision to encourage people to buy through Amazon rather than direct, whe Amazon charges a commission for every sell.

yeah. I know I can get cheaper filament, i was hoping to buy from seemecnc, but I can't really justify spending more than double to do so.

:-/

I ended up going with matterhackers which does it for 29/ free shipping

Qdeathstar, I'd contact them directly - there may be an issue with the postage calculator.

SeeMeCNC is not out to get anyone by charging exorbitant shipping rates and pocketing the cash. Seems like an error.

Seemecnc doesn't visit their own forums. Intredasting. Or write manuals for its products. (thnx Geneb, btw)

The printer has been a wonderful experience, I just got up to 200hrs printing the other day with no issues other than self inflicted once (tried to print to the very edge, slammed into the into the mount for my matter control touch, and had to recalibrate) but the business is a little strange? :D

Most of the time, SeemeCNC seems to skim the forums. People like Eagle, Geneb, and Mike bring the really critical stuff to them, if it doesn't get to them some other way. I've seen Partdaddy, JJ, and Guano post a couple of times. But I doubt they have the time or interest to read everything every day, especially when it's their day job.

We read when we get the chance =) but lately the shop has been so busy it is hard to find time to do so, and I'm not one with access to the shipping system so I cant get in there and check it out. Best way to contact us is either the support ticket or web chat.
