One year later,,,,

Post by Mac The Knife »

After the release of the Eris, What production changes have been made?
I've noticed they have lengthen the leads of the heating resistor for the hotend.
The board appears to be the same, only the firmware seems to be updated.

I don't understand why there is a large variance in the endstop offsets. When the Y offset is 0, but X and Z is around 200? Seems to extreme, and I would like to know what needs to be changed in the mechanical bits. I am really not impressed with the auto calibration, and I assume the endstop variance aren't helping.

I have Eris #32, and have updated to the latest firmware, and have used the webpage, 10 spot, calibration wizard.

When I started this topic,,, my Eris had quit. I finally took the time to rip it apart to check the fuses,,, which were good. Instead, I discovered that the power switch had failed. Wow.

Well, I popped open the switch today with a pocket knife. I found a really thin strand of filament in it preventing the contacts from closing. I removed it, and popped it back together. I'll test it when I get home from work.

And it's working again. And yes, I did try to blow out the switch with air, but it took disassembling the switch to remove the strand of filament.

Uncle Rob still thinks it should be loaded with a spool of cannon fuse, and then doused with gasoline.
