Starting at Zero "Z"

Post by carlsgems »

Setting Z at the beginning of print. I have read somewhere that setting Z in resin dish to start with clean piece of paper that keeps the dumb bell just shy of touching the coating in the resin dish, is this correct or is there a better way to get it started. I know there needs to be a clean scratch less surface for the light to get through to make good print, is this correct?

I loosen the knob holding the build platform so I can wiggle it as I Z down in .1mm steps and stop as I feel resistance to movement.
