Makerjuice SubSF

Post by johnoly99 »

Got a couple quarts of Makerjuice SubSF resin in Blue last week. I love the color, we'll see how it prints here when we get the machine put together :D

John you seem more active here lately, which is a great thing, it's always nice to see some red names. Have you gotten some more help at work?
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

I've found SubSF to be a little more finicky than SubG+, since it's much more viscous and way more heavily pigmented. Looking forward to your experiments!

What do you mean by "finicky"? Is it harder to cure or is the viscosity an issue? I've not had a problem with it, so I am curious to know your experience with it.

I had a little trouble keeping it stuck to the build plate at first, and the viscosity meant I had to slow down my peel operation. Other than that, it's good stuff. :)

Ah, well you'll have that with resins. Sometimes we just can't get the viscosity down any lower without losing properties...

McSlappy, yes, with JJ's help, i've had more time to get caught up in the machine shop/production side of things and have some time to finish some 'pet projects' like the droplit :)

So, SubSF at least in the blue tint isn't so hot :( The blue was scattering pretty bad, so i took sgrabers advice and got some other colors. I'll be testing the subSF stuff this next week, but so far have been printing REALLY well with the G+ in red, yellow and green with little problems. They seem to be ok with changes to the settings that the subSF was more picky about, so i think that's a good thing for starters

I've been printing for a whopping 3 days with a jug of SF resin. I'm not sure if it's the same stuff as *sub*SF, but I don't see anything with Sub in the name on their site anymore, so perhaps it superseded it.

Anyway though, prints are looking good!

Jim, that resolution your parts have appears to be outstanding. Great job!
