Graphene filament for printable batteries!

Post by Glacian22 »

Hey all, I just saw this clip about graphene infused filament which can be used to make printable batteries, which is just frikkin cool. Even better is they're using a Rostock Max to test the process!

*EDIT* Apparently I have no idea how to use the youtube embed tag :/

This concept seems suspect to me. Batteries typically take two different materials with a different electron-volt potential. The electrolyte allows the electrons to flow between the materials of differing potential producing voltage/current. Unless there is something special about those white 'spacer?' plates they insert, I don't see where the voltage comes from. Also, they claimed voltage similar to 'AA' batteries, yet I did not see the display read anything about .7V. Am I missing something here?
