hotend changing

Post by darkjorik »

Hello. I have a max 2 printer. Max 2 hotend can print with no more then 238 C.
Usually I'm print with 225 C.

I'm interesting printing with nylon filament. How I understand nylon need 240-250 C for best printing.
Who try to change max2 hotend ? Maybe have a successfull changing ?

Changing the stock hotend is very popular around here for higher temperature printing. The most popular upgraded hotends are the E3D V6 and the Prometheus.

Prometheus V2: http://www.dta-labs.com/products/prometheus-v2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For mounting either of them to the Rostock Max effector you need some kind of groove mount like these...

http://seemecnc.com/products/ez-groove- ... t-hot-ends" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There are also a lot of options for printable mounts on thingiverse and repables

I don't know of a place to download them, however, that being said, you may be able to trace seemeCNC's in Corel, or else design your own, since groove mounts are relatively simple. The biggest thing in my experience would be a cutout for the fan duct, followed by making sure the mounting screws are in the right place. I may be able to find where my files went, although right now they lack a fan duct cutout. If I figure out where we left them, I'll try and find you a copy.
