Opting for "normal style". I don't want my printer to be top heavy.

If you mount your power supply to the base, that'll solve the "top heavy" problem.
Rostock Max V2 with mods:

I ended up moving the PSU completely outside the enclosure bc prevent overheating.

What's the advantage of flipping it upside down?

Update:. Ah I guess it would make wiring easier. Too late now.

I ran some of the Trick Laser 8-conductor wire up one of the insides of the channels. That takes care of the endstops. For the hot end wiring, I use a cable mast: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1554882
