Nozzle Mod

Post by Pilcrowdesigns »

I haven't picked up an Orion just yet (price hasn't updated yet).

But I was wondering, when I get one. I was thinking about printing out my own nozzle mod where the filament comes out.
But creating an open one to pour a material through as the nozzle is moving back and forth..

Will the machine still run its course if the filament feeder isn't attached?

Hope this makes sense. . ;)

I fail to understand your explanation.

Uf there is no filamant it the exstruder the it will just spin empty.

Are you trying put something like a funnel on top of the hotend??

If you where to remove the black piece that the 3 arms are attached to completely and replace it with something you where to make.
Would the machine still move/function normally. Say the piece that is made, is just like the black piece, but it has a reservoir for a material to be poured in, drips out as it prints/follows the motion of the print. What that material might be, I don't know. But just wondering if it can be done to try out other materials that aren't force fed.

Hope that makes more sense..

You will need to get the dimensions exactly the same.

Or. Measure your creation exactly and enter that in to the firmware.

If it is a funnel, how will you stop the flow?
