NEMESIS Air Delta 1 all metal printer
Printer I designed and built. Finally alive!
Tweaking the firmware now, should be printing in the next few days.

Looks awesome, Brian! Can't wait to see it move in person.
Re: NEMESIS Air Delta 1 all metal printer
That's a very bad ass looking delta. I'm pretty sure I'd be horrified to find out what it would cost to build.

thanks Jim.Jimustanguitar wrote:Looks awesome, Brian! Can't wait to see it move in person.
I will bring it to the Makerhive on Thursday.
Thanks Gene.
I have revised the design for iteration 2 to require a lot less machining... so cost will be more reasonable.
Still all metal and same basic configuration. Frame sides one piece instead of 5, move top idler down inside extrusion with a simple flat top cap.

Brian, that is the most awesome looking Delta I have ever seen.
One H of a good job and I congratulate you for developing something so great.
Now I know what you were talking about when you said you were working with a lot
of aluminum. I am truly impressed!

I love machining things from aluminum and building machines.
The goal is to build a reasonably priced all metal delta printer that is precise, smooth, sturdy and fast.
With it we can explore pushing the limits of FF printing even further, I believe we have just scratched the surface of what can be done.

If this is scratching the surface I will love what happens when you break through the surface. A masterful printer indeed. You should win an award.bvandiepenbos wrote:Hi Eagle, thank you for the compliment.Eaglezsoar wrote:Brian, that is the most awesome looking Delta I have ever seen.

Very nice, I take it you have tested the columns during arm fast movement, for vibration dampening.

I would be surprised if dampening would be necessary with the weight and apparent rigidity that this machine has.joecnc2006 wrote:Very nice, I take it you have tested the columns during arm fast movement, for vibration dampening.
You may have to add dampening to the house though, if the house ever started moving in sympathetic vibration with this thing it
would feel like an earthquake is near.

Very nice, with the vertical movement of the carriages then there is not really any lateral movement.bvandiepenbos wrote:yep, no problem with stiffness or vibration...joecnc2006 wrote:Very nice, I take it you have tested the columns during arm fast movement, for vibration dampening.

One thing I would like would be pull the LCD out so it is easier to see without bending over to see the top row temp/menus. more ergonomically. (only a suggestion)

Re: NEMESIS Air Delta 1 all metal printer
It is not vrail or maker slide, it is plain t-slot extrusion I found on ebay.bubbasnow wrote:are those v rails? how do you like them?
the wheels are from open builds, made for the maker slide extrusion.
I really like them, they work great in regular t-slot aluminum extrusions also.
they have dual bearings and are quite sturdy.
open builds offer several variations
very reasonable priced $3.95 per wheel kit

Re: NEMESIS Air Delta 1 all metal printer
I agree Joe, I do not like the LCD mounted flat either, it would be better mounted at an angle. Probably will do that one the next build.joecnc2006 wrote:Very nice, with the vertical movement of the carriages then there is not really any lateral movement.bvandiepenbos wrote:yep, no problem with stiffness or vibration...joecnc2006 wrote:Very nice, I take it you have tested the columns during arm fast movement, for vibration dampening.

Brian, I am very impressed that you intend to sell such a beautiful machine. I don't care who is doing the machining of the parts I am surprised and pleasantly so that you are going to sell
such a machine. Best of luck in making this a success and I mean that in all sincerity.
