Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
Hello,
I got an email yesterday from MatterHackers advertising the new Rostock Max V3 that's available(pre-order). Since I haven't been on SeeMeCNC for awhile, I click on the page to see the new features. I quickly noticed; "Includes Accel probing feature for easy and accurate automatic bed leveling. This allows you to calibrate your printer with a single click!"
Has anyone got this or tried this, yet? If so, is it working and working well? Waiting to upgrade my V2 if this works well! Excited!

Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
They just started shipping full v3 gets yesterday so i do not think anyone has one yet.
The eris also has accelerometer auto calibration... I think that has gotten mixed reviews, but they have made some changes to it since then and the rostocks larger size lends itself to working better with the probe.. So they say...
I'm interested on impressions aswell But we've probably got about a week before anyone who wasn't given on for free has it built and is able to give feedback..

Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
thanks for the reply! I actually thought the developers or Gene would have some insight, but maybe not yet. I'm kind of surprised no one else has used it. I figured someone has to have some connections to get the V3 early.
Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
it works well enough for me.. so far I have 5 days printing time on my v3 for testing..
results looks good..

Could this be printed in ABS you think? ABS is a lot easer to sand that PLA.... I seen there FAQ but it just says they only tried it with PLA....
Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
guanu, is that a stock rostock size or is it enlarged? looks big in the picture. Anyways, looks great! seems like the auto calibration is working. looking fwd to upgrade my v2 to v3. Now the wait continues....
Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
Will they be offering a v2-v3 conversion? Auto level and calibration sounds great. Also does anyone know if the accelerometer is in the hot end or will I be able to keep the ED3 i just installed?
O.o
