Using Motor EXT 1 for servo Z end stop

Post by ronnien58 »

Can anyone help me to understand the use of the Motor Ext 1 (MX1, MX2, MX3). I am trying to install the Itty Bitty Double FLEX V2. I have the dual extruder working but i am having trouble getting the HTX 900 Servo working. First I think i burnt it up and I have ordered a new one and do not want to destroy that one too.
I am trying to use MX1 and have set my PWM pin Pa0 to 22 in pins.h.

The motor ext extensions were intended for adding additional stepper drivers, not servos. It's not working because the pin you chose is not a PWM-capable output. Your servo was probably not damaged by the attempt, it just didn't work.

There are only 15 pins on the arduino mega capable of PWM output. Many are used, but the spares are on the PWM Expansion header. The XYZ Min endstop pins are also PWM capable and are probably available unless you actually have min endstops. PWM Ext and Endstop connectors all have power and ground pins also.
