Ghosts of Delta Radius calibrations past
Haven't posted in a while but am running into what I suspect is a delta tuning issue.
Have a Max v1 (mid-late 2013) that I've upgraded with an e3d v5. Somewhere along the way, I either had it calibrated or THOUGHT I had it calibrated and simply didn't try to print close enough to the edge to realize it was still off.
Long story short, I'm trying to use most of the bed and am getting lifting issues more than about 1/2 to 3/5ths of the way out from the center. I've been going through the calibration loop trying to bring down the edges relative to the center by reducing the PRINTER_RADIUS in Configuration.h, and reflashing, and while it appears to be significantly closer now when I go through the calibration loop, the lifting issues at the edges (same model, same slicer settings) don't appear to change. The first perimeter that goes down stops adhering properly when the hotend is tracing farther out.
What's concerning me is that the .91 Repetier firmware comes with a default value of 198.25 for the PRINTER_RADIUS variable. By a search here on calibrating that, dropping it by .05 reduces the edge height by about .001m. I've chopped it down to 197.2 (if memory serves) and still have the calibration / print performance disparity. That seems like a pretty big change to what should be a constant, without a visible result...
I THOUGHT I had this thing dialed in but apparently I don't have "the touch", so I'm sending up a flare for help.

Don't mess with the PRINTER_RADIUS value, change the HORIZONTAL_RADIUS value in the EEPROM. You want to start off at 130.

Do I adjust positive or negative to lower the outer edge?

To lower the nozzle ---> increase horizontal radius
To raise the nozzle ---> decrease horizontal radius
To raise the nozzle ---> decrease horizontal radius

AWESOME!
What kind of intervals would you suggest? I have about a .15mm lift at the edges I can't chase down.
