PID auto tune for ABS.

Post by Tincho85 »

Hi guys, quick question. I'm about to run the PID auto tune.
The guide says I need to run the command M303 S200, but the temp I will be using for the Hot End is 225ºc (90-95 for the bed).

Should I run instead M303 S225? and for the bed M303 P1 S90???

Thanks in advance, Martin.

Martin,

It has been a while since you posted this question and you have probably already figured it out. I don't think the PID will work for 90C as it seems to time out before reaching that temp. I print almost exclusively with ABS and haven't had a problem with the PID being ran at 60C. It still regulates the temps ok for me. It just takes a long time to get to 90C and that's another topic entirely!

Hey Martin,

Generally speaking, you'll want to run PID autotune for the temps you're going to be using.

So for your hotend, if you're going to be printing at 225c, then run AutoPID for that temp.

For your heated bed, things are a little bit different. Running AutoPID at 60c should be fine.
