Anyone have upgrade instructions from H1 to H1.1?

Post by michaellatif »

Hey all,

I received the plastic parts and brass bushings (Thanks John!), but I can't even begin to imagine how they go together.
Anyone have instructions or maybe know where to start me in the assembly/upgrade process?

Thanks,

Mike

I was wondering what all came with the upgrade ,, I took a look at the campaign, but it was alittle vague. I did'nt see any real close up pics of the design changes. Mind posting some? Just curios

Here are a couple photos of the items I received today. The bag is full of bolts, nuts, bearings, etc.
The rest is pretty self-explanatory, I just need what part goes where, I believe that the parts here are for both X and Y axis upgrades plus the extruder upgrade (glass fiber reinforced plastic).

Yeah, I hadn't anticipated rebuilding my extruder but had to do so last night cause I got oozing from the sides (my fault). I am using the new black plastic parts for mounting the bearings, gears and extruder. Much more solid!

Its nice to see they took care of the bearings issue, and went with the bronze bushings. It looks like it will solve quite a few issues.
The other thing they should probably address is the thin plastic Bed and warping when using a PCB heat bed. Even with insulation it seems to still eventually warp. Ive replaced mine already, but i'm sure others might run into the same issue.

I went ahead and put my extruder together using the instructions from the H-1 as reference. I seem to be missing two parts, the Tensioner(#17) and the Tension Bar(#19). If any one else is missing these parts please post it so I don't feel like the only one. :|

Thanks Guys!

Also here are some pictures of the extruder for Mike. Sorry i forgot to take step by step pictures but those will prolly give you a pretty good idea of how to put it together. You might be able to see where the parts I'm missing go if you compare it to the old extruder.

Same here with missing parts. I didn't get as far as you. can you get the two pieces in after its assembled. That is what stopped me from putting the rest together.

I'm also missing the z-axis screws when comparing parts with H1. They said they were going to ship out missing parts today. Sounds like all the kits may have been missing the same parts.

You have to remove the two socket head cap screws and one of the side pannels to get the missing parts in. I don't have an H-1 but i looked at the extruder diagrams and they use almost all the same parts. I havent looked through any of the other parts yet to see whats missing. I hope the instructions get posted soon :) Where did you hear they were shipping the missing parts out soon?

I emailed over the weekend when I discovered the missing parts. Steve responded. He said they would ship today or tomorrow. I would hope they take a couple full kits and validate them against the parts list so they can ship all the missing parts all at once even if that means they don't ship until later this week.

I stopped checking for missing parts other than the major stuff. I think the part count for the H1.1 is a lot smaller that for the H1. It is to hard to tell what we are supposed to have until we get the H1.1 parts list published.

I also noticed your hotend didn't come assembled, mine did. Your steppers also look different than mine (yours look like they have a connector while mine just have wires coming out of them).

Did you get a mach kit or a ramps kit? Mine was Ramps, maybe that is the difference?

Haha yeah i just noticed that those socket head cap screws were gone too. Also im missing one thick plastic spacer(white) and two plastic rollers(white) and the socket head cap screws that go on the front and rear base frame sub assembly are either there and they are too short or they weren't there at all i haven't found out if these go anywhere else yet. Im going through just about everyting tonite so I will post again if I find anything else, actually only if I DON'T find anything else ;)

EDIT: Sorry i now realized that the larger bearings are supposed to go where the white spacers and rollers are supposed to go :)

Yep, we've checked all the kits that went out since last thursday, and some did go out without the few parts mentioned. Just email us what it is you're missing
