Updating the link, swapping from google hangouts to personal host, apparently google hangouts will only idle for 90 minutes before it shuts down.

Printing 6x6 topography maps for college students, then two large, full bed prints for a client.

First time sharing this, I saw someone post that geneb had a livestream going full time as a sticky, but I couldn't find it. In the future, is there a default livestream that we can attach to and share with at will?

For whatever reason the screen share is mirroring the image, but other than that it looks good.

I'll be printing almost continuously all week, and I'll check in periodically and answer questions and take tips. :-)

That's pretty cool! I like the view too.

Out of curiosity, is your effector made from PLA or ABS? And have you had any issues with the balls coming loose from the build plate heat?

You know, funny story, I was losing balls left and right using the heated build chamber.

I tried jbweld, jbquick, and nothing worked.

Then I came across a few mentions of people using Loctite Ultra Gel Control Super Glue.

Haven't lost one since.

I suspect strongly that the temperature increase slightly increased the diameter of the bearings, which caused the jbweld to lose its grip.

The effector pieces are all printed in ABS.

Well I'm definitely going to try and find some of that Loctite. I've lost a few balls myself already (and badly warped my PLA effector) going close to the build plate. I completely agree with the thermal expansion. When I first did the mod, I made about 18 ball/screw assemblies and took a flame to the ball gently for about 1.5 seconds and it flies right off. Now I've got the hot end well below the effector, but I'm losing almost 3" of build height.

Thanks for the suggestion! Time to cut up some more bearings to get those 3/8" balls!

Yeah, I've been running like this for several months now, and the loctite hasn't dropped a ball. not once. I print ABS and keep my bed at 100c.

I have no idea about which other ones work, maybe they all will, but here is the exact loctite that I used:

Next print job started, it's a 6x6 topography plate. 10 hour print.

That must be an amazing glue if it works and epoxy fails. Definitely going to have to get some.
Thanks for the tip!
