713 maker effector and hot end mount

Post by Twac1 »

so has anyone purchased the effector and under mount kit for their he280? I got my parts this week from 713 super fast and everything looks nice. issue is I purchased what I thought I would need but am not sure if it is correct or will even work with a rebuild of the he280. Tips, pics, or any info would be great. I have sent numerous emails to 713 but they must be pretty busy.

That looks right. Usually there is a diagram to illustrate how to assemble. Let me try and get some photos for you.
-edit- Actually I think you have extra parts.
It looks like you bought a basic kit requesting SeeMeCNC locking ring. Red and Blue
Then additionally you bought the Accelerometer Board locking ring. Green

You do not need the parts in blue. At least, my kit did not include them because I selected "Accelerometer Probe" under locking ring choice.
At least that was only a $5 extra part you added.

I will attach photos of my installation.

In your yellow bag there should be four spacers.
One goes on the top of each of those accelerometer mount, then the accelerometer, then 1 more spacer on the top of the mount hole with a pos and neg attachment.

I have E3d's on all my printers. I like them. They are an industry standard. Please stay away from cheap clones as they will provide no end of potential issues.

I get my E3D from MatterHackers.

Sorry you got so far without catching this.

I'm personally a fan of buying from E3D directly, since for me in Michigan, it somehow it cheaper with shipping and currency exchanges to get from them than from Filastruder, and faster than Matterhackers at around the same price. That said, I recomend getting yourself the whole nozzle fun pack, and possibly a Volcano starter set as well, so you can print from .25 to 1.2.

ok so I received the e3d, ordered the right spacers, and am ready to put it together. I have the V3, what do I need to change to make the e3d work? the thermistor is at 75 k ohms and the heater cartridge seems to be a 25 watt. im guessing firmware changes?

You need to tell it to use the correct thermistor table ( Sensor Type 8), in the firmware's config.h file. Once that's done, run a PID autotune cycle, and that gets you pretty close to done.
