Smart LCD Adapter - draft

Post by Gwen »

I have some difficulties to adapt the Smart LCD adapter for the Rambo. I decide to begin with the pinout diagram. In this first rush the schematics will be made by hand (with mspaint, I know, but it's rapid).

The ISP is correct, I think (on the right side, 2x4 pins)
For the EXT2 (1x18 pins), the nbr of pin is 20 and on the smart adpater 18. I'll post later after testing all needed infos.

Don't hesitate to say if this type of doc already exists in the forum (fater multiple search I cannot find info).

Attached to this message, the draft. Sorry for my poor english, I'm french speaking.

Regards

The simpliest operation is to create a new pcb design larger but with a direct connection to the EXT2 and SPI (and the connectors will be the same as main board : 2x4 connector and 2x10) , we have have the needed space for that!

I used these kind of connectors:

and it took me about 15 minutes to complete the full adapter-cable. With preparing and double-checking.

Geneb,

I've already read this thread and the PDF too .

But I want to connect the wires on the adapter provided with the LCD and not directly on LCD.
Or we can also add a column in the connexion table for the adapter ?

If I recall correctly, the RAMPS 1.4 adapter board doesn't even come close to fitting the RAMBo properly. That's why I built and documented it the way I did.

Could someone who has this new adapter up a photo, so that the new people such as myself can be sure of which one they have. It's kinda confusing, oh, and thanks in advance!

Same adapter that came with my kit, nice design. Fits like a glove.

I understand that this LCD kit replaces having to run Repetier, but all of the initial setup and troubleshooting steps that I've found use this software. Has anybody created a guide for commissioning a Rostock with only the LCD?
