Prometheus and 325mm CF arms

Hi guys,

Just made a few upgrades and I'd love a little clarification. I have installed a V2 Prometheus and the longer 325mm arms. Can anyone give me an idea of how to change the firmware settings for the thermistor and the 325mm arms? I have had a crack at it and I just want to make sure I have done the right thing. I have already bashed the hot end into the build plate and Im not too keen to do that again!! Can anyone help me out? If it's any use its a Max V2.

I came here looking for the same info on Prometheus - I'm surprised it's not readily available already.
As for the 325mmCF upgrade, I seemed to have success just by changing Diagonal Rod Length from 269 (standard) to 325 in EEPROM, and leaving all else the same,
though if anyone has further changes I'd be interested in them too. Also, if you use RollieRowland's calibration methods, it will make further tweaks to DRL.

Need to change temperature sensor type for EXT0 from 97 to 8, per Prometheus instructions.

Changed the thermistor type in the firmware and re uploaded. I did the same and just changed the diagonal rod value to 325mm in EEPROM. The issue I'm having now is when I do the z height calibration I have my end stops maxed out to the bottom and the nozzle is still hitting the build plate....suggestions??

I'm gathering the horizontal radius EEPROM input may have something to do with it? As that value is very close to my old setup with the old arms... I just made it 126 to see if it would have a difference.

As per the manual if I want to lower the nozzle the increase the value, raise nozzle decrease... But I can't even get to this stage yet... As I calibrate the z tower the hot end hits the build plate with the end stop screw maxed out into the new moulded carriage. Haven't tried x and y yet.... Sorry for the bad iPad pic... More to come.

As I understand it, you should not change the Horizontal Radius. That is the horizontal distance between the pivot on the effector and the pivot on the carriage, when the effector is centered. This value would not change when only the length of the diagonal rod is altered. HR would only change if the effector or carriage dimensions were altered.

The horizontal radius does change each time you undertake the z calibration. As per the manual its advised to change that value buy 0.5mm up or down until you gain the correct height at the bed centre. I haven't even gotten to this stage yet as per my posts above. But yes I was wondering if this value would change the z height at each tower during calibration. But I don't think it will as per the above post. Thanks.

You should run PID Autotune for your new Prometheus hot end.
Just changing the temp sensor to type 8 won't give you the most stable temperature.
