Not long ago, a mac user was having what seemed like motor or power issues. Here's something I discovered recently, when my airbook froze while my extruder was running.
If you can't get the motor to run when you push the extrude button in the print panel menu, look for a lock file.
Close Repetier-Host-Mac, open a terminal and go to ~/Library/Preferences - there should be a file: repetier.Repetier-Host-Mac.plist
that file is okay, it contains your personalized settings.
But there might be a second file: repetier.Repetier-Host-Mac.plist.lock - this is the problem. Delete the lock file. Then, reopen
Repetier-Host-Mac and everything should be working.
Lock files control which instance of an app getst to use which resources. They are supposed to be deleted when an app closes, but if there is a crash or something, then sometimes they stick around and cause problems.
hope this helps somebody,
