This link is for a Google Hangout that is populated by 3D printer folks much of the time.

This can be used in conjunction with the Freenode IRC channel #reprap if you're stuck and need help with something. The users have a mix of 3D printers, so it's not Rostock MAX-only.

Thank you Gene. Is there a pattern of usage showing the average busiest days or hours of the day?

Not really. I'm on (off and on) during the next two weeks as I'm on vacation.

I'm online now if anyone wants to see what a non-fatally burnt PEEK section looks like.

Just wondering if this is an ongoing thing or if it was just a one off. I would love to get some live feedback on just what the heck is wrong with my printer lol.

Oh wow, I had disregarded your name until the second time I read your reply haha. Someone on the RepRap IRC @freenode suggested that I get a hold of you because of some issues I was having with my Rostock Max. Well, that is assuming you're the same Geneb they were referring to.

Haha, sorry for the late reply, but I've been busy with a new job and all that jazz. When Geneb and Maybe-Geneb get done beheading each other, could the victor maybe hit me up? I still need to get this printer figured out. It has been making a great door stop for months now and IRC still says Geneb is the person to talk to. I would really greatly appreciate the help.

Haven't been there but I believe that's a voice chat site. If so, won't find me there. No time for that.

I will, however, help people by text as I can do it during short breaks such as now. Help limited to my current knowledge and wild guesses.

Does that google hangout thing only work with Chrome? I installed the plugin and it said it completed, but it's not showing up.

I've used it in Firefox as well, but it's been a while.

I was using cyberfox and it wouldn't work, but firefox worked. Something in cyberfox must be blocking the plugin. No worries, I don't mind using firefox occasionally.

I revisited this link and was able to get in. Seems like it is only voice and video though. Seems like that would be difficult if there were ever more than a few people in there. I wish it was chat too.

Hangouts ARE voice & video. You can share desktop views as well. I think the max # of people is 10. It gets pretty busy on the weekends. Fun bunch of people.

You guys still frequent the hangout? I thought about hosting an IRC channel on my buddies server, but it would be useless unless knowledgeable people joined in lol.

Well I'll wait around there a while. I think I need to talk through my issues with my Rostock or something. I can't seem to get anything small to print decently. I'm sure it's a setting but it's driving me nuts.
