Layers Splitting Apart

Hello again. So I seem to have a very nice printer over here, making some amazing looking vases. I've moved onto making complete structures now, but I am running into a serious splitting problem. It seems that some of the layers have trouble adhering to each other, so they split apart, making big gaps in the print. As you can see in the pics, there are a lot of splits in the object. Bellow is the printing information:

Hot End: 225C

I still need to calibrate the hot end temp. I am using one of the new J-Heads from hotends.com. Any ideas what could be causing these big splits? Temp not high enough (I think the hot end is fine, it gets quite a few bubbles, but not to much to affect the print quality), object cooling at different rates, ect? Thanks!

Is that a single perimeter with no infill?

I haven't made a perfect one yet, but I've found that warmer is better. Warmer ambient temperature in the room, fewer air currents. Next time, I intend to turn my hot end temperature up a few degrees, too.

What filament are you using? ABS/PLA?

Abs is prone to do that, usually increasing the print temperature will resolve it.
Minimizing airflow during the print will also help.

PLA printed on PVA glue does not warp nearly as much as ABS.

The problem is that the ABS is bending because of the temperature difference

It is indeed ABS, the green stuff from SeeMeCNC. I think it might be the room temp, I just don't know the best way to control it. I don't really have any extra space to do the printing, living in a condo and all. I really need to come up with some sort of cover for it. Know of any one that has come up with a good cover for the Rostock Max?

I was printing around 225c, I can try raising it to like 230 and have the fan even slower. I don't have a good shot of the internal structure, but there really isn't any space for infill, the walls are pretty thin as it is. The JHead is a .5mm head, and when I print at 1.5 times the size of the object, the walls and ramps are 7 passes thick (three walls, one line of infill).

I've thought of trying PLA, I just don't have any additional fans for the printer. Wanted to use ABS as it seemed the easiest to print with.

I saw somewhere... ah I think it was on tricklaser they have a plastic cover intended for use during travel, my thoughts were perhaps this could be used to help keep temperature stable by lessening draughts.

Go to an art supply store and get a big sheet of acetate and wrap it around.

Go to Home Depot and get some clear plastic painter's drop cloth.

Go to your pantry and get a trash bag.

These are not pretty, but you can find out whether a cover is going to help. If it does, then you can spend the time and money on a real solution.

Or you could leave it in the clear plastic painter's drop cloth and make it look like your printer is in quarantine.

Don't forget to print up some biohazard signs.
