Rostock Max --Hotend Jams

Post by rcvail »

Hello All, I am new to this forum and I have completed the build of an older Rostock Max that had been previously disassembled. My hotend continuously jams and I pulled it apart and noticed my Old PEEK 0.5mm nozzle has an upper tube section that is smaller than the housing on the hot end. The teflon tube coming from the extruder stops at the top of the hotend housing and this leaves a cavity inside the hotend for the filament to bunch up and go to the outside of the PEEK nozzle. It would appear I am missing a small section of teflon tubing or something else within the hotend to keep it directed to the nozzle tip. Does anyone know how to fix this?

There should be a piece of teflon tube in there. It should be around 1-3/4" to 1=7/8" long.
