Can an unmodified RostockMAX V3.2 with a se300 hotend handle the temperatures needed to print polycarbonate?

Just in case anyone else has the same question I submitted a ticket to the support staff and got some good info from Andy.

While the hotend should be able to reach the temps requires (about 280), without modifications and using a thermocouple, that is the high limits of the thermistor that is used in the hotend and may not be stable and reliable at the high temps required. Also the bed for polycarb tends to need to be higher than the bed on the 3.2 will be able to run. The Artemis bed would be able to reach the temps required because it uses a silicone A/C heater and not the circuit board heater the 3.2 uses. High temp specialty filaments such as polycarb are one of the hardest materials to get to print but we have not tried it ourselves. We have been finding people who want strong parts that can handle higher temps to prefer PETG since it is much more temperature stable and strong while being still easier to print.

I melted a PETG dashcam mount and haven't had a problem with its ABS replacement. YMMV.
