Duet app on my iMac

Just upgraded to 3.2. I have an older iMac (software is up to date though). I followed the instructions did the tty thing. After the screen went blank, I pressed enter and got nothing. Installed duet on my iPad as well (as per instructions). When I execute the duet app on my iMac, nothing happens. I then bring it up on my iPad and it goes into attempting to connect mode. When I connect my iPad to my iMac via usb, still nothing. The printer works via usb and sd card and I just had it upgraded at the factory so I know everything works. Must be operator error or something weird with my iMac. Any insight will be appreciated.
