Error printing 5" tall 'posts' on Delta H2 ptr.

Post by magicmarc »

hi, im printing some posts, when i go into mattercontrol and 'edit / duplicate' i can print 2 of the posts, and save some time /effort.. however whren i print the 2 (or more) i get alot of 'fringe plastic' forming on the side facing the other post(s).
its pla, 210c, std layer height, and ive set the non-printing speed to 15 (very slow..)
here is a picture of what happening?
thanks for any advice and assistance.
as you can see in the 1 picture, theyre supposed to be smooth, all 4 sides of the post.

I think that's the worst case of "stringing" I've ever seen. I would suggest you dial back the hot end temperature to 190 and try it again.

Better yet, make a couple of 25x25x10mm cubes and tune your temps using those.

thanks. thats what causes that, i had the posts close together as well. when you say to tune using the squares, you make make a few calibration squares, change temp to 190 and try . and do the pid tuning command 2 times as well prior..?
thanks

so this is at temp 190c, and it almost makes a 'thin back wall' between the two boxes.?
at fine layer setting.?

Can you say "retraction setting" and "over extrusion" ?

Does the extruder even spin backward when a retraction occurs? Shoot a quick video of the extruder during retraction. I'd like to see it in action.
