I've seen these start to show up within the RepRap community.
They are a lower profile heated bed clip than the binder clips we typically use.
Cost is a bit higher unless purchased wholesale in larger quantities, but it would be better for printing out to the edge and clearing the effector with low profile layer fans etc.

My Mendel started life as a RepRapPro kit and uses these. Seeing this thread, I pulled one off and tried to clip it on the Rostock just for grins. With the stock bed installation it hits the snowflake before it gets far enough inboard to grip the edge. It's also really fiddly with the printer base so close under the bed. I had to shim the leading edge (relative to the installation motion) up with a set of needlenose pliers to keep the spring from rotating the clip out of position.
