New layer cooling fan & shroud for Rostock Max V2

Post by Johncoffee »

I tried to find something like this with the search function in the forum, but didn't succeed. So here we are:

A new cooling fan and shroud for my Rostock Max V2. I'm very satisfied with the performance - as cooling is much better than the stock fan. Hence my prints with PLA come out great, especially then ones with tiny structures:

Let me know what you think.

The only caveat is that the Stock hot end gets cooled down when running at 100% fan speed. 60% is a good value for me, where 100% with the stock fan wasn't enough. I think I will replace the stock hot end to a E3D soon.

Nice, especially since these blower fans are a lot cheaper than the original ones...

I had two of these fans for a while now, but hadn't gotten to making a shroud for them. Was just about to, and saw this. Testing them out now!
