Hello From Chandler, Arizona
Well, I have been wanting a printer for a few months now and went through so much pain looking at all of them. Almost pulled the trigger on the Marketing Printer, but changed my mind and went with a Delta Orion. Got it today and unboxed it at 7:00pm. I had the first sample off the machine at 8:30pm. I am super impressed with this little machine and can;t wait to start making some real parts.
I am an Aerospace Quality Engineer during the day and a Radio Control enthusiast on the weekends. I will be speaking to the Engineering manager tomorrow about getting a fleet of these for development.
My home machine will be used to make helicopter parts, truck parts and LED systems for the hobby.
I still need to figure out how to level the glass and figure out everything else I guess.
Again, thanks for the great machine, I couldn't have asked for anything better for the first 2 hours of its life.

Alright, thanks for the invite. So far so good.
We really need an automated height calibration sensor for the bed. Once I get the hang of this, thats the first thing I will mod on the machine.

Welcome! I guess you might work at Boeing/McDD. My BIL works there.
Enjoy your Orion! It's a great printer from a great company. We're a great forum - about the best, I think!

Re: Hello From Chandler, Arizona
Thanks, I work at the big H company. We do work for Boeing and the helicopter line at MDH.
I have the printer several days now and have alot of prints already. I figured out how to change the speed and fill percentages, so my simple prints are coming along nicely. Moving onto some harder ones this weekend.
I'm going to read over the last half of the manual today to see if there are any tricks I can get out of the slicer.

Well, I really am enjoying this printer. My first production parts will be coming off the printer this weekend, and if all goes well, I will be buying the Rostock kit next month.
Any chances of having a larger machine come pre-assembled in the near future?

Alright folks, here is my first product coming off the machine. It is the X-Case for the Estes ProtoX Nano Quad.

The hinge and the magnets base is a major PITA, so I will likely try something new tonight. I get alot of strings and junk around the magnet area. Not too much that I can;t clean it off, but it just bugs me.

That is really cool, you should put that on Thingiverse to share with others.

Learning more and more each day. I found some design heartache on the first box, so I switched some things around and now have an easy to make box that looks cool.

Yeah, making these cases helped me figure out alot of the details for printing. Especially ooze fighting for all the small details of the hinges and magnet holders.
