infill alternating 90 degrees between levels

Post by M1T0s1s »

have kisslicer running real nice on my delta, but the infill is just crappy. When i was using slic3r or cura the infill layers stacked on each other real nice, but with kisslicer the infill gets rotated 90 degrees on each level. I can't seem to find out how to change this.

It's doing exactly what it's supposed to. Print it and you'll see.

I use Kisslicer 99% of the time and I've never had a problem with the infill pattern.

M1T0s1s, since the infill is doing what it is supposed to do and Gene indicates that is not a problem for him, what is it about
the infill that you do not like?

i guess must have some flow issues then, because with these patterns the material only stacks up at the cross over points.

That's pretty grim. It's NOT the infill pattern. :)

Good to know, now on to figuring out this issue. Outside is looking great, just that darn infill is killing me.

Have you done a calibration to your cold extruder, as described in the Rostock manuals?

Also, do you get better results from Cura or Slic3er?

Are you using a Rostock Max or a home brew Delta?

Yes the extruder is calibrated, i would say cura had the best results, i didnt really give slic3r a good chance, i was getting descent, but the strings were horrible and the supports were way overkill, and the way longer slicing times turned me off. As i am very green, i am changing settings and reslicing very often, and i am using a homebrew delta. Azteeg x5, bulldog xl, e3d v6, and nema 23 motors for the x,y,z

Try the CraftWare Slicer. It's like KISSlicer but with more options.

Can you increase the infill extrusion width? If it's too low (even the same setting as the wall can be too low) it starves like you're seeing sometimes.

Is Craftware ready yet? It's been a couple of months since I last used it, so I'm not sure.
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

I'll try the infill width. Don't know why I didn't see that one.

Awesome! Changed my infill width from .4 to .6 and the infill is beautiful!! Glad kisslicer looks like it's gonna work for me because I already bought the pro license. I like to support devs for freeware that I use.

If you're using a .5mm nozzle, try setting your extrusion & infill width to .55. If you've got a .4, set it to .45.

Give it a shot and see how it works out.

I am glad that you have everything working with kisslicer. It truly is a great slicer.
