YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
Whats the thinking with making the adapter harnesses and not just converting the Rambo connectors to Duet?
Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
Several. First if you trimmed your original wires like I did you need the additional length. Second, you can prepare all of these beforehand which makes the conversion go in 15 minutes rather than several hours. And finally, I use this approach on all my printers so I can s so controllers and try new things easily. You can, of course, go direct if you'd like.

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
I am also converting a V2 with HE280 on it. I'm going into the new connectors This board looks to do everything I want and will fix this belt tilt issue I have so I'm a happy camper
Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
So far I have the board configured and talking to my Mac and my ipad so that is good... Now studying the upgrade process... I don't have the PCB for the HE280 mod yet so I'll get it all ready and wait for it to arrive before going further. Thanks Michael for all of your efforts...

How do you make an image of the sd card and how large of a card can you use. I'm thinking of long term storage of print files on the card

32GB is the max (I tried 64, it didn't work). As far as an SD card image, I would suggest you start with downloading say the Minikossel example, and then modifying it to suite your printer. For example I've attached a zip of mine (Do not reuse at very least the temperature portions. Mine is also somewhat old as I haven't updated recently)DerStig wrote:How do you make an image of the sd card and how large of a card can you use. Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
I include config.h and a set of macros for the V3 on the link in my blog. I'd start with those.

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
I did just discover that tI set the printable radius too small (this started as a config from my K250). In config.h look for M665 and then set to B150.
You can make this change through the web interface easily.

Okay. Conversion done, love the endstop lights on the stepper drives makes it really easy to double check.
Have a problem.
How do I get this thing calibrated? I hit "home all" it goes up and homes. then I hit "Auto Delta Calibration" and it crashes the print head into the build plate.
what am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?
Thanks for helping.

What are you using as a probe and how do you have it hooked up and configured!

Adafruit 3.3v Trinket and in the Z-Probe 4 pin port straight out of your instructions

You are correct I used the Trinket and edited my post to correct that
Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
Okay so converted from the Z-porbe input to E0 endstop. I get the red endstop led and now when it crashes into the bed I see the LED blink for both the end stop and the Trinket. The web interface reports back "End stop already triggered" or something like that. Also in the right side it shows 1000 for the end stop sensor.
What is wrong?

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
I have not done the mods to get the Duet installed (waiting for a trinket)... make sure you have used the correct wiring per the github..

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
If the LED on the trinket lights, it is seeing a probe hit. That is confirmed with the LED on the Duet when connected to the E0 endstop. So you have things wired correctly. Could still be a config.g issue. You should have:
M558 P4 X0 Y0 Z1 H5 F1200 T2400
In your config file.
What is your bed surface, this greatly affects the probing.
Start with the above M558 and if you still have trigger issues, increase the F value by 300 and test in steps. I probe on PEI and 1200 works for me. The original SeeMeCNC value is around 54000 mm/min. If I go that high, it probes fine but the variability between probe runs is all over the map.
Accelerometer probe configuration is more of a balancing act than other probes. They are highly dependent on bed surface, bed rigidity, probe speed and other factors. I've spent a lot of time testing and profiling this week including some novel suggestions David Crocker mentioned like temporarily increasing the microstepping to increase resolution, adjusting the new probe recovery time (R in M558), etc. Lots of things tested, nothing provides the consistent results I'm looking for. I am now talking to an application engineer at the company that makes the accelerometer. He made some suggestions I'm working on today. Oh, and yesterday I enabled triggering on X and Y acceleration events too and that seemed to make the biggest difference in terms of precision from run to run. I am getting very consistent deviation of 0.08 +/- 0.003 now. But it's that 0.08 I know is too high based on other calibration results.

Glass bed. This all was working with the Rambo and when I did the conversion it's not
Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
M558 was present already in my config. I'm getting the following error.
M112
M999
Error: Z probe already triggered at start of probing move
How do I fix that?

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
Increase the sensitivity in the source file and recompile and flash.

How much should I increase it by? it's at 20 if I'm reading the source file correctly
Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
Increase by 10.
Also, then increase the F. Have you changed the F yet.
Oh, and you absolutely must not be heating the hot end, that WILL give false triggers. It's ok to be hot, but turn off the heater before probing.

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
okay I can bring the head down to the print bed and see that its triggering when I tap the print head to the glass by hand both the end stop led and the trinket led flash
The problem seems to be that the probe is already triggered and it's not reading the trigger state. I get this error
Error: Z probe already triggered at start of probing move
whats that about?

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions
That means that something is triggering the probe. Vibration, too sensitive or something else.
