Adapter plates for EZStruder with Geared Nema17

Do you print/build/make/create 'stuff' for modifying SeeMeCNC machines? Post them here if you do so others can see and inquire about getting them!

Adapter plates for EZStruder with Geared Nema17

Post by JFettig »

I am making a small batch of these adapter plates to use the Kysan 5:1 gearmotor or others with the EZStruder. I'll be asking $23 shipped(lower 48 states) for each, qty discounts(10+) available :)
I take Paypal or Money order.

They use the Hobbed gear from Tridprinting and they also have a geared Kysan. Same motor is available from other retailers and other geared nema17 motors are also available.

Setup is easy, attach hobbed gear and measure 1/8" from the end of the shaft to the end of the gear(note orientation), tighten down

Attach adapter plate with supplied screws;

Attach bottom half of EZStruder:

Attach top half of EZStruder:

Then re-attach to your printer! Don't forget to modify current settings for the motor as needed. I haven't installed mine yet but will report back.

Note gear location to drive roller. Ok to install top half before bottom half

10/15/15 - I have 7 in stock, have a run on the schedule.

You might want to check out the USPS "If it fits, It ships". When I was selling clutch baskets for an RC truck, I had pretty good luck with it, and it was convenient. I did have one get lost on its way to South Africa, and one did take the long way to Fort Wayne Indiana, By way of Milwaukee, from Lansing. But overall, the packaging is free, you print out the labels at home, and except for international shipping, just drop in the box.

What advantage does a geared stepper have over non-geared stepper for extrusion?
- CNC's: Rostock Max upgraded to v3.2, Prusa i3 MK3 MMU, Formlabs Form SLA, Shapeoko3 CNC, Palette+, Palette 2 Pro
- Software: Fusion 360, SpaceClaim Engineer, Simplify3D, Repetier Firmware & Host, VCarve Pro

Better resolution for filament feed rate for low flow rates (small nozzle and low layer height). Also, provides more force for feeding filament when using smaller nozzles which require higher extrusion pressures.

I use the flat rate padded envelopes for lots of stuff but these are small and light. I have other small envelopes for them.

0110-m-p is correct, better resolution, higher forces, etc.

I updated the price to $23 shipped to the lower 48 states, its been pretty consistent for first class mail, if anyone wants a different service or one shipped outside the lower 48 states, don't hesitate to ask.

As I have time, I have some other billet aluminum projects I want to tackle for our 3d printers :)

The one you sent me works like a charm. Looking forward to an all metal extruder that complements the mount.

I know the geared steppers cost a little more (maybe a discount in bulk can be had). Do you plan on selling a all-in-one ready to run package?

Awesome, good to hear!

Maybe when I get the geared setup off the ground I'll source some gear motors to turn it into a package deal, its a ways out, I have too many other non-3d printing things to focus on at the moment.
