Re: Filament sensor
Has there been any movement on this? I'm surprised I haven't seen anything but old threads.

Re: First Layer Thickness
The hot end is rigid. However, I turned the stop switch screw on the X post in by 1/4 turn, and the problem has gone away. Maybe the switch was between steps on the motor?

First Layer Thickness
When I print my first layer, I'm having problems with nozzle height near the X and Z columns. I've seen other threads on this, but I haven't seen how to address it. I'm certain its not an uneven surface, because as soon as the nozzle moves in a different direction, the line thickness changes. All of...

Filament Runout Sensor
I have found a couple of sites that show using an optical or microswitch to sense when you have run out of filament. I've also found one site that claims to have connected directly to the RAMBO, but there are no instructions for firmware. My question is this: On the RAMBO, is there a place to connec...

Re: Decoding Temperature Messages
Thanks. I've been to that reference, which all it says is get extruder temperature. I see a lot more variations on the M105 line, which I think are different channels.

Hardened nozzle for HE280?
What's the nozzle material on the HE280? I would like to try some carbon fiber filament, but have read that it will eat up a brass nozzle. Is the stock nozzle up to the task?

Re: EZStruder synced with Z stepper
Thanks, you were correct. I moved it over to E0, and am now waiting on the bed to come up to temp. I did try the manual control in MarrterControl to move the filament, but the filament feeder didn't do anything. I'll see in a few minutes if the print job moves filament.

EZStruder synced with Z stepper
Newbie here.
Just built my V3 and the extruder stepper seems to be getting the same commands as the Z stepper. Would this be an Arduino configuration problem? I thought I followed the instructions correctly.

Re: Hardware build completed in two solid days
I agree, but given the final position of the supports, the penalty for getting it wrong in this step is a bit painful.

Hardware build completed in two solid days
I finished up the hardware last night ... at least I don't have many parts left. Over two days, I estimate I spent about 20 hours getting to this point. Next up is firmware, then whatever needs to happen to set up a toolchain. I've never printed 3D parts before, or even been exposed to them, so I'm ...

Re: Looking to Purchase Rostock Max
Thanks for the information.
I asked the SeeMeCNC folks a few questions, and here is the information I got:
When is the V3 going to ship?
Late this month.
How much is it going to cost?
The same price, or slightly more.

Re: Looking to Purchase Rostock Max
I did some searching on the V3, and have not been able to find out much about it.
Do we know what the upgrades will be?
Are we really talking about a few weeks until availability?

Re: Looking to Purchase Rostock Max
Thanks for the very helpful feedback. I know nothing about these machines, and I can tell it's going to be like learning CNC all over again.
I think I'll pass on this deal and get a new one.

Looking to Purchase Rostock Max
I have a lead on a Rostock v1, which has some upgrades, but I don't know how to value it. It's priced at $1000, and I can get the V2 for that. What are the differences between the V1 and the V2? It has a 1 kw heated bed, and spare controller boards, spare motors, spare abs rolls, and an upgraded hot...
