Re: Canola Convert
Hah! I read so many positive replies to the canola oil that there must be some thruth in there... But it made me laugh a bit too. Nevertheless, often the simple solutions are the best. From what I have learned the last three weeks, that's particularly true about 3d printing!

Dunno what to call this thread... Problems anyway!
Hi, I have been using my secondhand (so did not build myself) Max V2 with pretty good outcome. But those were all small thing... Now I plan on building the Raymond Style heat chamber, and am Trying to print those brackets, which are much bigger than anything before. But now problems arise in floods....

Re: Layer fan shroud ring
Hi Tincho,
That project seems not to have been picked up, it's not available for sale. But it is a really interesting thingy, because it is so much more compact than anything else! How did you build it?

Re: Canola Convert
Thanks teoman, I will definitely try. But would e.g. olive oil or sunflower oil be as efficient? Somehow I think that sunflower oil is much purer, but maybe that's just my misunderstanding...

Re: Canola Convert
I would imagine that canola oil, since it is sold for consumption, contains a lot of impurities that interact with the filament or get burned during extrusion. Isn't there a better solution for this? I guess motor-oil can withstand high temperatures much easier?

Layer fan shroud ring
Hi, I have been trying to find a decent fan shroud for my standard effector with E3D hotend. That seems to be pretty difficult, because of the little free space between the bottom of the effector and the object being printed (or bed). I bought my Max V2 second hand, and I got a box with some old pri...

Re: Black MAX
Thanks Xenocrates, will definitely try!
Looks like there is a whole lot more 3d printer parts on Repables then on Thingiverse. Did not know that.

Re: E3Dv6 hotend fan
To reply to myself: It seems to be difficult. The layer fans I've seen so far are all hanging too low next to the nozzle. And indeed it does not play nice together with the LED ring mount. You can't lower the nozzle a bit because the hotend fan blocks that... Any good solutions for the E3D? Do I rea...

Re: Black MAX
Sorry to break in here, but I am interested in those mounters for the acrylic panels. Can't seem to find STL's anywhere. Someone care to share?

Re: E3Dv6 hotend fan
You are correct. Itis wired there. Uhm not quite... ;-) I checked the manual again, and of course I was mistaken. The layer fan is mentioned in the manual after all, I was just overlooking it. That's great because the wiring is okay then. I found an alternative to the layer-fan-shroud, that uses a ...

Re: E3Dv6 hotend fan
Thanks guys, Today I dismounted the RAMBo board and checked the wiring. The hotend fan was connected to the "fan" header while I found in the manual that it should be connected to the "heat1" header. So I corrected that and all is fine now. The fan goes on and off automatically (...

Re: E3Dv6 hotend fan
Thanks, I will download the assembly guide and look into it.
Looks like I will be doing some rewiring all togther, because it looks quite ugly at the moment.

Parts availability in Europe
Hi,
Is someone selling spareparts for our printers somewhere in Europe (pref. The Netherlands). I see that if I order a glass bed, shipping costs more that the item itself...
I am in need of a layer fan, can seem to find that sideways blowing thingy locally.
Thanks.

E3Dv6 hotend fan
Hi, I am rather new here, so some questions will be of the beginner type... ;-) I bought my V2 second hand, so pre-built ;-) The seller told me to always switch on the hotend fan before starting a print. It needs a GCode commend to be switch on and I made a macro for that in Mattercontrol, but I won...

Re: Hi from the Netherlands
Yes, I guess I am lucky to find a young secondhand machine like this! I already saw so many nice mods.... But I will need time to get comfortable with the machine as it is know, before I dare any modding But it has the E3D head already, so no complaints here
Thanks for the welcome guys!

Hi from the Netherlands
Hi all, I layed my hands on a 1 year old Rostock Max V2 for a nice price. It had my special attention because I like the "different" technique on this machine, compared to the more known cartesian machines. On my fisrt attemt I managed to clog the head and it took me a an evening and lots ...
