I went to the site to "sing up" for the mailing list.
They might want to fix that typo.

True, but if it looks like it fits on the build plate it does.JFettig wrote:Do that then throw a 270mm diameter part on it, it'll say its too large!

Re: Operation "stick to the damn glass ya bastard!" (AU)
Ok I've tried these, and here they are in order of effectiveness. 1. Glue stick in water (about 1cm of glue stick in 2cm of water in the bottom of a salsa jar). However this didn't seem to work for Esun pink filament for some reason.... In fact nothing but ABS slurry worked for that. Weird. I will ...

Re: ??Success?? 3D rocks lithophane
I just took a peek and it seems like it works. Doing lithophanes involves a lot of trial and error to get the thickness parameters right, it will vary by filament. Also some photos just don't translate into a good prints for this. I have found white filament works pretty well, and the surprisingly t...

Re: whats your longest print?
My longest print was so long that I started it in 2014 and it didn't finish until 2015! 55hours, 45 minutes Cells bowl, 10.5 inch diameter, 9 inches high .2 mm layers Toybuilders lab natural PLA ED3V6 hot end (evidently not clogging on PLA for me) Spiffy new Trick Trucks 2015-01-01 15.18.57.jpg 2015...

Re: Canola Convert
I have never used Canola oil but from the people I know who do it seems that very little is needed. For those who are having issues with the E3D v6 and PLA how big is your retraction amount? I lowered mine to about 3mm and haven't had any issues. I just did a 55 hour print in natural pla with tons o...

Re: Effects to printing from non 90 degree towers, software
So looking at the tower with the biggest issue I saw that there was a little bit of room for adjustment. I loosened it up and pulled it in as best I could. It was only a partial correction but got me close enough so that I could try some hacks. What I ended up doing is putting a shim opposite of my ...

Re: Trick Trucks - Lightweight Aluminum Carriages by Trick L
So I have been running these a bit so I think I have enough info for an early review. First is I don't think there is anything really negative to say about these things. Instructions are still a work in progress and it would be nice if it was sold as a complete kit so one didn't have to pay shipping...

Moderating the forum so nothing gets said they don't like is never going to fly, imagine if the guys at seemecnc did that here? How long before people would start talking? Have you ever been to the simplify forums? Clearly this claim is incorrect. Yes they manually approve the first post from a per...

Re: Effects to printing from non 90 degree towers, software
After further thought I had something wrong in my previous analysis. If the tower is leaning away the further away the effector is from the tower the lower the arm plate is therefore the further the tower pushes the arm making the arm appear longer and that pushes the nozzle higher (if the arm was s...

Effects to printing from non 90 degree towers, software fix?
This is in reference to an R1 purchased in 4/2013 So I am one of those people who hasn't been able to use the whole entire build plate. I now think the issue is a tower being a bit more than 90 degrees from the build plate. First question is it possible for this to be my issue. I can get the center ...

I usually print PLA at 190c on my max, if I were you I would definitely try dropping the temp a bit to see if it improves.

Re: Trick Trucks - Lightweight Aluminum Carriages by Trick L
Fortunately I was able to remove the axis without have to remove the arms so moving the spacer from the outside of the truck to between the bearings was a fairly painless process. Definitely made a difference in the ease of the adjusting the tightness of the axis.

Re: Trick Trucks - Lightweight Aluminum Carriages by Trick L
Maybe I'm missing something that is obvious to everyone else but this is what I see in the video.
Axis + shim + trick truck + shim + spacer + shim + bearing + shim + bearing
That is 4 shims per axis, there are 9 axis in total, 4x9 =36 not 27. What am I missing?

In general the install was pretty straight forward, much easier than putting together the cheapskates. The package contained no instructions, so viewing the v...

Re: Nozzle off center...by a lot?
Well, you were correct in that it was a problem with the pulley. I noticed that offset of the nozzle was directly opposite the Z tower. So I relaxed the belt tension and popped the belt off of the drive pulley. It was immediately obvious that something was wrong with the pulley, I could see that th...

I know this has been addressed before but Seemecnc is a know entity, these kickstarter usually end up being something less than meets the eye (if they ever deliver at all).

I have done much worse, printed orion and max parts on my (gasp) replicator 2. Fortunately haven't been kicked off of the forums for it.jdurand wrote:I could always cheat and print them on the Afinia, or is that sacrilege? Any chance you can share your settings file so I can see what I can learn from it? The default profiles for the max and the orion are actually a decent starting point and probably better than any profile I have since I don't have a stock hot end anymore. For PLA I changed the extrusion width to man...

Re: Using Simplify3D
change your extrusion width from auto to = nozzle diameter, run a test print and see if your fill has improved, if its too rough try increasing it. i would imagine if this is where you are having issues your end result of a good print diameter is going to be around .55mm I will second this, the aut...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
I've calibrated two rostocks now, not just one, each of different design and build. At last year's midwest reprap festival I had someone try to calibrate my max who had literally calibrated over a hundred delta machines and could not get a usable print area greater than a 6 inch diameter. (btw my d...

He tried a kickstarter that failed, which is why he only went with the two most popular (I guess he needed a commitment for a minimum order or the economics didn't work out).Nylocke wrote:Is that why only the 2 are available on the Taulman site? If so that's unfortunate, they looked promising.

I think there is a thread somewhere on this but the gist of it is that you are probably putting in the size of the square that surrounds the circle, and what you need to put in is the size of the square that fits inside the 11" circle.

Re: Microcenter Inland Filament is the same as Toy builder l
I haven't had a bad spool yet I think this is where people have to be careful where they are thinking they are getting $35 filament for $20 bucks now. The Toybuilders guy does quite a bit of quality control, many of the rolls he gets never makes it to customers. I doubt these guys are doing the sam...
