Need ideas for a "priming trash bin"

I'd like to mount a little "trash can" so I can prime the extruder before printing.
Has anybody does this on our delta printers?

Please post pictures or ideas!

Thx

Mechanical gear display stand

My co-worker wants to keep a broken gear from a robot arm as "trophy" on his desk (don't ask :) ).
So I designed this display stand for him:

Final printed stand with part:

Took a few minutes to design in OpenSCAD and came out perfect!

ABS bridging performance

We've seen some pretty impressive bridging with PLA around here (example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQ1X-N6yio4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). But what about ABS? Printing the "standard" test cube, I always seem to get some strands that break and "loop...

You need to use more units.... 113.6 what? Chicken nuggets? Ohm? Degrees C? etc....

thanks
Can you post a picture of a round item you've printed?
How "out of round" is it? And you mean in the "top down" plane, of course, right?

Re: Smoothie-ware

Hell, even nowadays, tuning between an OBD1 Bosch ECU on a 90s BMW 3 series and the later OBD2 Siemens ECU saw improvement in multiple categories, even though the Siemens had a lot more to do on the emissions side of things. Now, ECUs are powerful enough to use fuzzy logic instead of constantly ref...

I really wish I had known the V2 was coming, had just got mine a few weeks ago, had I known it was coming I would have just waited to get the new and improved one without having to spend another $300 for the upgrade :/ I only wish I had known the iPhone 5 was coming when I bought my iPhone 4. Re: Update 2-26-14 My printer is almost complete

thenewguy, great job on the printer. Looks fantastic and also seems to work great.

I'm confused though:
Why choose peltier elements for heating?
How are you even getting 100C from them?
Seems like a 110V coil wire would be much more efficient then the peltier elements, no?

Re: Broke another E3D...

Also, why were you trying to take the thermistor out? Since the nozzle had broken off inside the heater block, I wanted to remove the thermistor to move it to another hotend... Alas, it also broke. *sigh* Maybe I'll try the J-head one next. Though I can't print a mount for it right now of course :(

Broke another E3D...

So, apparently I'm an idiot... After breaking my E3D last time I tried to change the nozzle, I just broke it again. Being more careful this time, I first snapped the nozzle clean off. And then my threaded thermistor. Somehow anything screwed into the heater block seems to seize in place and never co...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Very nice and I'll probably print one for myself.

It would be nice though to have a E3D fan shroud that clips onto the hotend risers in the way that the SeeMeCNC one does, to keep it from rotating.

Go check out the rostock page on the website, it's up as the kit now! We're shipping kits the end of this week, and fully assembled will be available in just a few more weeks. Still need to ship a few and figure out our shipping solution on that one, it's a biggin' Link? I'm blind; can't find it...

Bicycle phone handle bar mount

Here's a handle bar mount for my cell phone that I've just finished printing. Made in two parts for easy printing. This is made to fit my Google Nexus 5 inside it's case, but would fit many other phones as well. FreeCAD files are available also in case you want to adjust it for your phone. All files...

Re: Cubex will not turn on

My work bought a Cube-X. I'm actually kind of bummed that they spend so much money on such a bad printer. Sure, it's built like a tank and the mechanics are truly awesome, but the custom electronics, stupid cartridge system for the filament and the lack of a heated bed are really quite the let-down....

iPad Mini stand

Made a stand for my wife's iPad Mini, "inspired" by a design from Williams Sonoma:

Printed a little coarse (0.7mm nozzle), but works great.

Seeing the new R3 print it, I'd figure I'd give it a shot on my ORION.

Oh well, was fun to try and I got a photo right before the final layer....

Re: I'll just drop this here for now

I can take care of the wiring differences between the ORION and R3 myself. If that makes it available sooner :) I'd just need: - Wood + acrylic parts - Longer T-Slots + hardware - Heated bed+glass - New LCD mount (??? the ORISON one looks close; can I reuse it???) If the price is right(-ish), I will...

I have ALWAYS had issues with my hole sizes being two small. My linear dimensions are spot on, but my hole diameters are ways off.
