My machines

I recently finished the latest round of upgrades/alterations for my Rostock max, and figured I might as well finally get around to showing it, and a bit more of my workshop. it's not hugely impressive, since I've only in the past few years started acquiring CNC tooling. But there is a good quantity ...

Re: E3D V6 thermistor swap out

not that I can think of, although I would use E3D's fiberglass sleeving on the seemeCNC thermistors so you don't add PTFE back into your all metal hotend. the sleeving may degrade after a few thermistor swaps if you don't get more. Only concern would be making sure the sensor number is right, which ...

Re: Alternative bed options (i.e not glass)

I'm planning to face a sheet of aluminum and then adhere PEI to it. I also have and regularly use the solvents to dissolve PEI, and happen to have enough aluminum for two of them, so I may just try dissolving a bit and coating the aluminum with PEI. I do NOT expect that to work out, but SCIENCE. My ...

Re: Yet Another Dual Extruder Design Attempt

Some things that may help. (I haven't done dual extruder mods yet, but plan to eventually. The planned timeframe is Soon™) I would start with the firmware from seemeCNC, or if you've done any firmware tweaks, that. SMCNC github repo Next up, go to the configuration.h file using the arduino IDE (ther...

Re: Glowforge

Having a laser cutter, and some experience with other cutters, the fact they brag about a custom laser tube is a big negative right off the bat. Also, I am slightly dubious as to the ability of it to not require re-alignment. And sealing it afterwards, well, that's another major negative. It also se...

Re: Where to plug in PT100 amp

fair enough. I went to go port my configs through the online tool, but I was lazy and found it easier to just convert the marlin tables to Repetier compatible, because that was easier to do programmatically. Also, I didn't notice the support for it, and am slightly lost as yet with how to do the con...

Re: Where to plug in PT100 amp

I connected through the regular thermistor wires (since all of the stuff that goes through the top deck already goes through screw terminals it was the easiest way to do it), and connected to (IIRC), the ground and A6 on the analog EXT. Plugging it into the regular thermistor jack, which I tried sin...

Re: Where to plug in PT100 amp

If you plug it into a normal Thermistor jack, it will read the wrong temperature. ~430 degrees error for me. I have mine sitting in the top deck, with the old thermistor leads carrying the signal, and a 5V line from the power supply routed externally up the side of the machine to power it, and the t...

Greetings and Inebreations

Hey there, go ahead and call me Xeno for short if you'd like. I'm a CNC programmer/operator in training, with ambitions towards engineering with a prototyping focus. I've got a reasonable amount of experience with a variety of tools, although most of it is with wood. I purchased a Rostock Max not to...

Re: hotend changing

I don't know of a place to download them, however, that being said, you may be able to trace seemeCNC's in Corel, or else design your own, since groove mounts are relatively simple. The biggest thing in my experience would be a cutout for the fan duct, followed by making sure the mounting screws are...

Re: ed3 Lite 6 Questions

The lite should be fully compatible with the V6 mounting, since they use the same heatsink. SeemeCNC sells a laser cut mount for their end effector, http://seemecnc.com/collections/parts-accesories/products/ez-groove-adapter-for-groove-mount-hot-ends" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...
